Katie's P.O.V
I paced back and forth of my room, wracking my brain for any ideas on how we were supposed to track down Heath. Everyone was currently downstairs doing the same thing, minus Gabbie and Matt who were still out searching the city for any clues on what could have happened. I was about to join the group when my phone rang in my pocket. Seeing it was Amber, I quickly picked up. "Give me good news, dude."
"His Apple Watch last clocked him an hour ago on the strip." Amber spat out. "I was researching everything the cops were trying to press on to him and I asked for a sign... I guess I got it. Just in the form of an Apple notification on my laptop." Amber laughed awkwardly.
"How the fuck does he have an Apple Watch on him but not his phone?" I scoffed, throwing myself onto the edge of the stairs. I put my head in my hands, rubbing my forehead. "Nothing makes sense about this shit, dude. It's like he's not even missing. He's just... Roaming around."
"We're going to find him." Amber said matter-of-factly. "I know we are. I'm not giving up and neither is anyone else. Want me to swing on over?"
"Nah, it's fine." I stood up, beginning to slowly walk downstairs. "I'm going to just Uber my ass to Pinkberry for everyone. I'm not in the mood to be driving."
"Understandable. If you need me, let me know. But Katie?" I paused, waiting for her to continue. "If you can't sleep... I know you can't, it's been two days and you sound like shit. But... Will will prescribe you something. Seriously, it's no big deal."
"Thank you, but no thank you." I laughed lightly. "I'm not a huge fan of that stuff. Besides, it's nothing a bottle of Barefoot can't help."
"Good for you. I'll keep you posted." Amber hung up the phone as I quickly ordered an Uber.
"Text me your Pinkberry orders and I'll go and get them." I said, looking up quickly from my phone before putting it back in my pocket.
The room fell silent as they quickly texted me. My phone began buzzing from the group chat, filling the void in the room. The faces of everyone said what we were all thinking, though, Scott still spoke up for the group. "This isn't right. At all. None of this is adding up."
"Yeah, well, Amber clocked his fucking Apple Watch an hour ago at the strip." I felt my throat clog up towards the end of my sentence, attempting not to cry. I ran a hand through my hair, shaking my head aimlessly. "I just don't get this shit. I-" I grabbed my phone as it beeped, signaling my Uber was here. "Keep looking. There's something we are missing."
