"I don't really know why this is so hard for you guys!" I groan slumping into my chair.
"I'm sorry brother but we have chosen very suitable mates for you and you turn them all down!" My eldest brother Valentine shouts.
I must have really pissed him off if he's even speaking right now.
"Which one was suitible? The rogue?" I reply with an icy glare.
Valentine has always had a soft spot for rogues since he mated with one himself against our fathers wishes. The one he brought in for me to meet almost killed me. If I hadn't had a chaperone, my sister Arabella, I would have stood no chance agains the beast alone. He was sexy in a rugged way I will give Valentine that much.
"What about my candidate brother! He was nice!" My loudest and youngest brother, although still older by five years, Adrian exclaims.
"Yes, nice was the only adjective I would use to describe him." I reply dryly.
As usual he doesn't quite catch the sarcasm and beams at me. "I'll call him for a second meeting!"
"Calm down Adrian, Tristan was being facetious." My third brother Adonis sighs taking pitty on me and saving me from a lengthy explanation.
"What's that?" He asks confused.
All of us groan.
"Nevermind, just don't go with the second meeting." Adonis says simplifying the matter.
"Oh, ok..."
"None of this matters. I have found the perfect mate for you baby brother." Lindon says finally speaking up.
Lindon was the second eldest but was always treated as the eldest after Valentine's little stint with that rogue. Whenever Lindon spoke it was filled with unquestionable wisdom. Of course he rarely emparted that wisdom to his younger siblings. He was too busy taking care of his own pack to even spare us a glance. I was surprised when he showed up at my door this morning. Guess this was why.
"Lindon, that's quite a statement. Perfect you say?" I smirk evily. My brother must not know my definition of perfect.
"Perfect for you." He rephrases.
"Is he handsome?" That's always my first question. Shallow, I know, but everything is attracted to beautiful things.
"Yes." He answers. I look into his eyes for a lie but there is none.
"Is he clever?" My second question was based on my need for witty banter.
"Not as clever as you but so few are." He answers truthfully, with a hint of flattery.
I nodded. I guess that's the best I would get. Annd a little flattery doesn't hurt.
"Is he strong?"
"His body or his will?" Lindon asks.
What did he mean by that. I mean I understood the actual words but not why he asked.
"I meant of body but please elaborate on his will." I smirk.
"He is very strong physically." He says and pauses for a moment. "His will is what makes him perfect to you."
I tilted my head in confusion. What could he be about to say.
"He is soft. You are well know for your willfulness. He will do as you say without question or complaint. A perfect match is what this will be because as you push he will not push back. Understand?" Lindon smirks evily as if I'm some sort of diabolical plot to make this man regret ever knowing Lindon.
"What did this man ever do to you brother? That you would sic' me on him..." I ask in wonderment.
"He is the key to tearing apart my pack. His father is nothing like him. I hate that man with a pation, he has been trying to splint my pack for as long as I took over as alpha. If his son isn't on board that all changes. With no heir he can't claim his alpha line. Then poof go his chances at ruining my pack." He plots diobolically.
I raise a brow at Lindon. I didn't know he could be so underhanded. Underhanded enough to marry his last brother off for his own convenience.
I loved it!
Just one last question. "What's in it for me?"
"You finally get married and have pups. You won't have to deal with his father for much longer either. I plan on killing him soon as I can. I just needed you to stall what was already in motion first." He replies with a shrug.
I tilt my head to the side. I wasn't stupid. My sister Arabella ran the pack I currently resided in. Like Lindon had just explained, I'm willful, as well as ambitious. I could take Arabellas pack easily, she was a lazy drunk. But where was the fun of that? Lindon's pack was another story, that would be the real challenge....
I smile sweetly at my elder brother. I was never good at playing the ditz but had to try.
"You promise he's handsome?" I ask making it seem as if I'm still hung up on that.
He chuckles. "Yes brother I promise."
I smile sweetly as I nod my agreement. "I'll do it."
