CLARY POV
     I run into the building quickly. I charge up the stairs. Jace was right behind me. We ran up all the stairs and finally got to the roof. I tried to open the door. "Dammit! It's locked!" I say anxiously as I tried to open it.
      "Then let's unlock it," Jace said simply. He walks backwards a little bit. Then he charges to the door putting his shoulder to the door and hitting it with his body weight. I start to do the same thing, helping him with the light weight I have. The door shoots open and flies off it's hinges and lands on the floor. We both look up as we see the girl on the ledge. She was small and scrawny. Jace and I slowly walk towards her. "Mrs.Kane?" Jace asks. She slowly turned around. Her eyes were puffy.
       "Stay away! I want to be done! I don't want to be here anymore!" She yelled as she stepped farther away from us.
        "Kathy!" I yell before she can go any farther. Rain was pouring on us. "Kathy please! Listen to me Kathy! You don't want to die.."
        "Oh please! You don't know me! You don't know how much my life sucks!" She yells.
         "Kathy! Listen, you're only 15....you think that this will be your life forever and always, but it won't Kathy! When high school is over you get to change! You will change and you will become better ok!" Jace cuts me off.
         "But you can't die now...not when you've barley lived..." he says. We had been inching closer to her. And now we were close enough for her to come down.
         "Give me your hand Kathy," I say. She was about to grab my hand, when suddenly, she slips. She lets out a scream. She had her hands gripping on the slippery ledge.
          "Help!" She yelled. Jace and I were quickly at her side. We carefully but quickly picked her up. She quickly pulled herself onto the building using Jace. She clinched onto him for dear life, crying and sobbing. I hated the spark of jealousy that ignited. She's just afraid, she almost died after trying to commit suicide. Jace and i have been partners in the police department since we started. We were also top of our class. And during all the time we've spent together...I've developed feelings for him. I shake my head to clear my thoughts as i see more cops rush towards us.

     I got over it...I got over everything. I got over my feelings for Jace, and my feelings towards the people I save. I learned not to get attached to anyone. Especially since one of the people Jace and I saved years ago is now Jace's Fiancé. It obviously wasn't Kathy. Jace's Fiancé's Name is Julie, she was in the middle of bank Robbery, she got a small cut and needed stitches. And Jace has been with her ever since. I thought maybe Jace and I could still work together and be friends. But when Julie and Jace got more serious, Jace left me, he told me Julie didn't want him to be with another girl more than he was with her, and that dumping me was the only way she could excuse the fact that Jace is never home. I love her,Clary Jace has said as if that should explain everything...but it only hurt me. I obviously didn't let it show. I also never cried for him...or at least not in public. I smile at Jace as I see him across the office.
     "HEY! LISTEN UP! WE NEED COPS AT A SIGHT! THERES BEEN A MASS ROBBERY A FEW STREETS AWAY!" The sheriff says. He starts calling up a bunch of people. Including me and Jace. We both run towards the Jewelry store that was robbed. The robbers were still running out of the store.
       "PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!" One of the cops with us says. The robber quickly shoots and starts to run away. I look to my left to see what the man had shot. It was Jace. I broke down. I knew I was in public. But I really didn't care. 
        "GO!" I half order half sob to the guy who called him out. I look at Jace.
          "Jace...Jace...Listen to me...keep looking at me please!" I say.
            "Clary" he breathes.
            "No,no,no, don't talk Jace...please don't talk." I plead.
            "Clary...Listen to me!" He says loudly as he grips "You have to listen, I won't last long,"
          "Don't say that!" I yell at him. "DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT JACE HERONDALE" I yell.
           "Dammit I shouldn't have wasted any time....I'm so sorry Clary.." He says. "But I need you to know..."
        "Jace...save it! The paramedics should be here any minute now..."
         "Clary...you know the victims are probably gonna be their top priority" He says.
         "No Jace! No! You will be their top priority!" I say. "Just stay alive...please.."
          "Clary....oh Clary" Jace then starts crying. He didn't cry...not even when he fell to the floor and got hit by the bullet..which was weird, adrenaline maybe? "I love you Clary...and I'm sorry it took me to get shot and die for me to realize it..."
          "What?" I ask.
           "I'm sorry, I love you Clary," he says. His eyes flutter shut.
            "No...no,no,no,no" i keep shaking him. "Jace no...no Please Jace! Jace you can't leave me please! I love you please don't go Jace! Please! It's not fair! It's not fair it's not fair it's not Fair!" I yell like a little girl. "Please Jace...you can't leave!" I cry. I know he's gone...he's gone but I keep acting like he can still wake up. Eventually, I give up and put my head to He's chest as I lie down on the ground crying. I felt as If i had gotten shot with him. And i wished I did. I wish I could've just died right here next to him. But that didn't happen.

I lost him.
