DISCLAIMER:I OWN NOTHING
CLARY POV
I was outside of Jace's house. He was having a party. It's been two months since he broke up with me, the first month i was sad...And angry, and then, the second month, i missed him desperately. I was looking in through the window. People were outside and inside the house, dancing and getting drunk. I saw Jace pull a brunette closer to him. She had a red dress that hugged her obvious curves. She was absolutely beautiful, way more than me. She was in Jace's embrace. He whispered something, she laughed and kissed him. I look down at my old shoes and baggy jeans and old hoodie. I turn around and get into my car. I turn on the engine and drive to the only place that can make me feel happy. I get out of the car and go inside the store. "Hi, can I have chocolate ice cream with kit kat's oreo's Hershey's, butterfingers and any other type of choclate you have?" I ask. The girl nods.
"What size?"She asks.
"Just....the biggest you have," I say. She nods.
"For here or to go?"
"For here...if it's not too much trouble," i whisper.
"Don't worry, we have 24 hour service," She explains. I nod and grab the tub of ice cream. I pay for it and sit down In the corner of the ice cream shop. I open the tub of ice cream. I scoop up a big chunk of ice cream and shove it into my mouth. I then break down crying. I shove more ice cream into my mouth to muffle he sobs. That's who i am, the pathetic girl in the ice cream shop who is crying her heart out. I shove more ice cream into my mouth. I then ask for another tub of ice cream. And I keep crying into the ice cream. The girl who was working finally got off her shift. She put her hat down and sat on the table next to me. Her name tag read "Aline" she gives me a small smile and gives me another tub of ice cream. "It's on the house," She says. I throw the two empty tubs away and start eating the other one. "What happened?" She asks.
"My boyfriend broke up with me two months ago...and now I'm seeing him move on...I love him so much," I say as more tears roll down my cheeks. I shove more ice cream into my mouth.
"I'm sorry," she says. I nod.
"Thanks," I smile. I get up and walk to my car. I turn on the radio, and the one that got away starts playing.

Summer after high school when we first met,
We make out in your mustang to radio head,
And on my eighteenth birthday we got matching tattoos,
Used to steal your parents licor
And climb to the roof,
Talk about a future, like we had a clue,
Never planned that one day, I'd be loosing you,
In another life,
I would be your girl,
We keep full of promises,
Be us agains t the world,
In another life,
I would make you stay,
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away,
The one that got away,

I pull over at my house and kill the radio. I go inside and go into my room. In another life, I would make you stay.

So I don't have to say,

You were the one that got away,

Because you're

The one that got away.
