CLARY POV
     I sigh as I give the old lady her change. I was working at CVS, Jace wanted to hang out but I had to work my shift. I see Kaelie and Aline come in. Kaelie is Jace's girlfriend. And I'm fine with it! He's my best friend, and that's all he is.....Ok, he's not, he's more than my best friend, but that doesn't matter, he clearly doesn't want me, I've always been small and the friend in the background. And if he likes Kaelie...well, there's no way he likes me. I look up as I hear someone clear their throat, it was Kaelie and Aline. They were talking in hushed voices. I look back down at the products to scan them. There was only one product. A pregnancy test. No, Jace wouldn't do that with Kaelie...right? He wouldn't. Clary! It can't be for Aline! She's lesbian. You just have to accept the fact that Jace had sex with Kaelie...even if you don't like it.... and that Jace might have a child.... I sigh and look up at Kaelie. "$28.56," I say. Kaelie pays then walks away with Aline.

I sigh as I walk out with my CVS uniform. It was a red shirt and black jeans with black boots and my hair in a messy bun. I walk out into the damp side walk of New York as I walk home. My step has a light splashing sound effect. Water drips from drain pipes as I walk home. I walk inside my apartment. I'm19 in college and working at CVS. I walk in and see Jace inside. He has spare keys to my apartment for emergency purposes, And I have spare keys for his apartment. We've been friends since birth, and I trust him more than anyone in the world....and I also love him, more than anything in the world. "Jace?" I ask. He looks down pained.
"I don't know what to do....I need your help and I- i don't know what I'm going to do," Jace says.
"What happened?" I ask. I while Jace's tears away. His head fall onto my shoulder as he cries into my neck.
"I'm in debt because of college, and I just got fired from my job and......Kaelie just called.....she's pregnant," He cries.
"I'm sorry Jace," I whisper as I hug Jace.
"You don't get it Clary!" He says in frustration. He pulls away.
"She cheated on me! She says she didn't but..." Jace cuts off.
"But?" I ask.
"There was this one night...Kaelie and I were drunk, she says that we made love that night.....but I know we didn't, I went to the doctor later on because I found out Kaelie's Ex had an STD or something....he said I was still a virgin, that there's no way I could have an STD." Jace says. Jace's mom never let Jace out, she wanted Jace to be the good little virgin boy. And she accomplished it, Jace went from the horny teenager to a 19 year old virgin.
"Jace... if you wanted to stay you just had to ask," I say grinning. He sighs in relief.
"You know me too well," Jace smiles. "I just need to forget everything about Kaelie," Jace says as he pulls me into him, our lips inches apart. I took a deep breath. I knew he wasn't going to kiss me. He never does. I push him away and force a giggle. I then turn on the TV and sit down on the couch. I then cuddle with Jace for the rest of the night.

~ten months later~
      It was pouring outside, with thunder and everything. I hear pounding on the door. Jace and I had fallen asleep in my bed while watching Tv. I get up and open the door tiredly. Outside I see Kaelie. She looks up at me. "I don't care what you do with this thing, I thought it would get Jace to be tied to me, but that obviously didn't work!" Kaelie then drops the basket she had in my arms. I was wearing a robe covering my tank top and shorts. My hair spread wildly. "Tell Jace i give up on him..." Kaelie says and then leaves. I close the door and turn on the lights. I opened the basket on the kitchen counter. I gasp as I see what's inside. A baby girl. I pick up the little girl. She was sleeping peacefully in my arms. Even though she came from someone as wicked as Kaelie.  I see Jace come down the stairs.
      "Clary? Who was it?" He asks. He then see's the child in my arms.
        "It was Kaelie....she said she was giving her up, and that she was giving up on you." I say simply. Jace looks down sadly. Did he really love her that much?
       "You know.....most of our fights were about you," Jace says. I stop rocking the baby and look at Jace. "How I spent too much time with you.......Kaelie was an amazing girl....I thought she was it for me... she was my soulmate," Jace says. His words hit me hard, they always do, how he friendzones me at least twenty times a day. I eventually learned to keep it in.
       "Oh," I say.
         "Yeah, oh," Jace says distastefully.  I look down at the floor. The bad thing about not showing Jace he hurt me, was the fact that I would look like a stone cold Moran while I was hurt. "Sometimes, i think that everything would've been easier, if you weren't in my life Clary," Jace says. That caught my attention. I looked up at Jace.
         "What?" I ask.
        "That night I got drunk, I was thinking about how you never had any feelings for me that weren't platonic, if I wasn't drunk, I would've known for sure that child wasn't mine, if you didn't exist, I would be with Kaelie, giving her all the attention she needed, I wouldn't be haunted by you!" Jace says angrily.
        "What are you saying Jace?" I ask as I put down the baby.
       "I'm saying that I hate you Clary! That I hate how you make me stop focusing on anything important! How you always bring attention to you when you walk into a stupid room! How you always look sexually appealing even if you wear grandmother clothing! I hate how you look at me with those stupidly huge teen eyes you have! How you make me want you in every way humanly possible, how you make me want to be with you forever and never let go! I hate how much I love you, and I absolutely hate, that you don't even acknowledge my feelings! And I hate how-," I interrupt Jace, launching myself into his arms and kissing him, wrapping my arms around his neck, he quickly reacts, wrapping his arms around my waist. I knot my fingers into his hair. Burying myself in him. I then pull back and press my forehead against his.
     "I also Hate you....like, A lot," I say. Jace laughs a little and kisses me again lightly. I love him.
