I couldn't fall asleep because I was in pain so I just let Jahseh hold me as I cuddled up to his chest. I felt so conflicted with my feelings because I didn't want to like him but I definitely do.
"Why aren't you sleep?" He whispered since my mom came home.
"I'm in pain" I told him and he sighed before he started to rub my back.
"Don't worry I'm going to get him" he told me making me nod.
I nuzzled more into him and could feel myself falling asleep but was now afraid. Afraid that if I fell asleep I would die. What if I can't breath right in my sleep.
"What's wrong?" Jahseh asked me.
"What if I can't breathe in my sleep?" I asked him and he sighed.
Before he could say anything my mom knocked on my door.
"Mija are you awake?" She asked making me go silent.
Once she didn't hear anything she tried to open my door but realized it was locked and walked away making me look up at Jahseh.
"I don't know how I'm going to keep hiding it from them" I told him making him nod.
"Why do you want to?" He asked me and I shrugged.
"I don't want them to become too overprotective" I told him and he shook his head.
"You have parents that care that much about you, take advantage of it" he told me and I nodded.
"Amia come open this door! Is that a boy I hear?!" My mother yelled.
It scared the fuck out of Jahseh but it didn't scare me that much. Honestly I should've knew she was still standing there because she thought she heard me and wasn't just going to drop it.
"Amia! Now!" She yelled making me get up from the bed and go to open my door.
When I opened the door the hall light was let in so she could see my face.
"Mija what happened?" She asked, holding my face as she let herself in and turned on my light to see but ended up catching a glimpse of Jahseh from the corner of her eye.
She looked at my face and then looked at him before attacking him.
"Ma stop it wasn't him!" I yelled, trying to get her off while Jahseh just covered his face.
"What happened then! Explain everything now!" She yelled making her accent come out.
"Umm Ciaras boyfriend did this, he choked me out while you guys were working. Then when I woke Jahseh came to see me and he's been here helping" I explained making her raise an eyebrow.
"Your best friend Ciara?" She asked and I nodded.
"Then didn't take you to a hospital or nothing?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Well then that's not your friend, I don't want her over here no more and I don't you around her" she told me and I nodded.
"As for this, I don't like that you snuck him in here but I thank you for helping my daughter and I'm sorry for attacking you" she apologized to Jahseh who nodded at her.
"Is he your boyfriend now?" She asked making me shake my head and she smirked.
"Well you are welcome to stay and eat dinner Jahseh but no spending the night" she told him and he nodded at her.
"Thank you" he spoke and she nodded before walking out of the room and leaving the door open.
I sat beside Jahseh and put my head on his shoulder, sighing.
"Your mom just met me and beat me up" he chuckled making me giggle a little.
"It was bond to happen one day, you are my only friend" I told him and he nodded.
"I don't want to only be your friend though" he told me and I could feel him looking at me for a reaction after he said it.
I only shrugged "I know that" I told him and he nodded.
"Then don't try to friend zone me" he kind of demanded and it sent a chill down my spine.
"My bad" I told him in almost a whisper.
I tried not to show what the sentence did to me but I'm sure he caught it.
"Come down here for dinner guys!" My mom yelled up the stairs.
I sighed and looked at Jahseh "get ready to meet my dad too."
