I woke up the second time to a quiet house and a vibrating phone. I furrowed my eyebrows but answered it.
"Hello?" I spoke confused.
"Why you ain't been answering?!" Jahseh yelled at me making me roll my eyes.
"I was sleep Jah" I told him and then it got silent.
"You didn't hear your phone?" He spoke breaking the silence, saying it like it was unbelievable.
I sighed "I'm sorry for not answering."
"Who over there?" He asked.
"Nobody" I spoke in a duh tone.
"Mhm I'm outside" he spoke before hanging up.
I'm convinced this boy might be a little off.
I shook my head at the thought and got off of my bed, heading downstairs to let him in. I opened the door to be meet with him holding food and drinks so I stepped out the way to let him in.
"What you got?" I asked him as he sat it down on the island.
"Chinese, I don't know what you eat so I just got you some random chicken and rice" he told me and I nodded.
I sat down at the island and started to look through the emails I had gotten earlier. Most of them were pointless but then I seen this one from the college I wanted to go to. Which was my whole reason in checking them.
I scanned the email, looking for the words that I need. Accepted or declined. When I seen the word my smile got so big.
"They accepted me!" I yelled, kicking my feet which confused Jahseh.
"Who accepted you?" He asked.
"NC state!" I screamed, flipping off the chair on accident.
Jahseh helped me up but his face didn't look excited which made me stop being so joyful about it.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"You going to leave?" He asked and I nodded at him.
"Yeah I mean I really want to go there, I have for a long time" I told him and he nodded, grabbing the food.
"You never told me anything about it" he told me and I nodded.
"I didn't think we were going to be this close" I told him and he just continued to nod.
I really don't like his reaction, it's making my chest feel weird.
"S-Sorry" I apologized.
He didn't say anything but sat beside me and sat my food in front of him before turning my chair to face him.
"How I'm going to protect you from here?" He asked me and I shrugged.
"You don't want me to go?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"It'll be best if you don't" he told me making me sigh.
I opened the box with my food in it and was going to start to eat but he moved it making me look at him.
He took the first bite before sliding it back to me and letting me eat.
"Your mom and dad know about this school?" He asked and I nodded.
"So I'm the only one in the dark" he chuckled before standing up.
"I'm sorry Jahseh, it's okay I won't go I'll find a school that's closer" I told him and he stayed silent.
"What are you going to school for?" He asked me after breaking the silence.
"I want to be a nurse" I told him and he nodded, chewing his food.
I looked back down, feeling guilty for trying to leave him after he just keeps trying to take care of me.
"What's wrong?" He asked me making me look up.
I looked at him and looked back down "I'm sorry for trying to leave you" I spoke and he nodded.
"It's okay, you just didn't realize" he told me, coming over to me and rubbing my back.
"We can get you applied for Florida schools so you can be a nurse" he told me and I nodded.

I see y'all didn't realize after the party but I wonder if y'all can put things together now.
