Goodbye Carmel

Maddi was feeling emotional, it was Carmel's funeral and Maddi was singing, she got dressed into a black knee-length dress and went downstairs "morning Mads" Maddi just smiled but it wasn't the grin she normally had "Maddi you okay?" Maddi nodded and sat at the table.

It was time to leave for the funeral and Maddi was getting worried in case she messed up, she didn't want to let anyone down so she had stayed up the night before practicing the song.

Arriving at the church Maddi saw the McQueens and they all looked emotional before the funeral even started walking over to them Myra smiled "Maddi" Maddi smiled "I'm sorry for your loss" Myra smiled "thank you for singing today" Maddi smiled "I'm honoured you asked me to" Madd then walked back over to her mum and hugged her "never leave me" Sandy smiled "never".

The funeral had started and Myra had stood to say a few words "my little girl Carmel, she was a bright bubbly young woman and was always smiling, even until the end, she would have made a fantastic mum and she did an amazing job with Kathleen-Angel while Theresa was away, I can't say much more other than I'm going to miss her everyday" as Myra sat down the Vicar stood "on behalf of Carmel's family a young girl will be performing a song for Carmel" Maddi stood and made her way up and got ready -

There wasn't a dry eye in the church and all the McQueen's were in hysterics "I'm gonna miss you Carmel" Maddi then went to sit with her mum and received the hug.

After the funeral was the wake and Maddi had been invited she didn't feel up to it but she was going. Arriving at the dog Maddi saw a giant picture of Carmel and smiled when Ziggy came up behind her "you alright?" Maddi nodded "yeah, I'll be fine" Ziggy smiled "you were amazing singing" Maddi smiled "serious though Mads, where did you get a voice like that?" Maddi shrugged "born with talent I guess".

The wake was over and Maddi was tired and all she wanted to do was sleep "I'll order pizza tonight" the boys nodded "Maddi? You hungry?" Maddi shrugged "I aint fussed" Sandy frowned "Maddi?" "I'll have some pizza if I can have a bit of ice-cream but after I've come back" "from where?" "There's something I gotta do".

Maddi had ordered some balloons to let off for Carmel so she went to pick them up when she did she got her phone out and announced on her facebook profile -

Maddi grinned when she saw half the village there "Maddi?" Maddi smiled "everyone take a balloon and we're gonna let them off for Carmel" Myra smiled and took a balloon as did everyone else "on 3 we're gonna let them off" "3...2...1" then everyone who was there let the balloons off and cheered.
