Chapter 61 ~It's okay~

It was Helloween night. The stars were shining brightly on the pitch-black sky.
I had a very weird feeling like something wasn't right...

Severus pov.
This was the worse night of the year... Sixteen years ago this night my one and only true love died... Because of me. A tear slid down my cheek. I had my head in my hands sitting at Albus writing desk. A bottle of whiskey standing next to me. How I hated my existence. My memories went wild. I saw her over and over again... Lying on the floor dead... I just couldn't handle it.

Y/n pov
"Y/n?" I spun around looking at the picture on the wall wide-eyed.
"Severus needs you!" It was Dumbledore.
"Where is he?"
"In the headmaster's office."
"Thank you, sir."
Dumbledore smiled at me and left. Even after his death his portrait still gave me orders and informed me... He was inevitable... But I was very thankful for this information.
I hurried out of the potions masters quarters to the headmaster's office.
"Dumbledore" the stairs showed up in front of me.

Severus pov
It knocked on my door. There was only one person who knew the password.
"Enter, " I responded.
(Y/n) stepped into my office, she looked worried.
"What is it?" I asked in a cold tone.

Y/n pov
"I came to ask you the same question, " I softly gave back.
"Leave!" His eyes were red, he looked completely broken.
"No, I don't think I will, " I said.
He got up from his chair.
"I'm not up for games (y/l/n)! Leave right now it's an order!"
I closed my eyes. We were at last name base again...
"Everything I do, I do for you, " I choked up.
"And I know that you do the same thing. We both have someone we don't give up for... Sadly, I can't... I'm not the one you trust... Not of greater importance... But that won't keep me from trying to help you... I know that you struggle and-"
"Shut your mouth, (y/l/n)! You don't know anything about me! Now leave!"
"I won't -"
"You idiotic, filthy excuse of a woman. I told you to leave!" He barked.
My eyes watered up. I knew it. I knew it all of this time.
I stared at him. Then I turned around not saying one other word leaving. The tears started dripping down my face.

Severus pov
"She really likes you, Severus, " Dumbledores portrait said from behind me.
A scene flashed through my head.
"Mudblood!"... She never forgave me...
"What have I done?"
"Don't make the same mistake twice, " Dumbledore said.
"You can't compare her to Lily!"
"Can't you?"

I had to find her.

(Y/n) pov.
I ran. Blinded by my tears I didn't care where to, so I ended up at the stairs case of the astronomy tower.
I wiped my face walking up slowly. This tower. It had witnessed so much pain... so much.
I stepped up to the balustrade where Dumbledore had fallen. The tears streamed down my face.

"Swinging in the backyard
Pull up in your fast car whistling my name, " I choked up.

The portraits had informed me that (y/n) had run towards the astronomy tower. I didn't want to go there, I couldn't but I had to.
I hurried up the stairs. There she was. Her hurt and tear-filled, but beautiful voice filling the air. The song she sang made my heart clench.
I stepped up behind her.

(Y/n) pov.
"(Y/n)" A deep voice came from behind me. I didn't turn around.
No. Everyone but not him.
"Please, forgive me, " my eyes widened. Did he actually asked for my forgiveness?

Severus pov.
She won't forgive me... Lily didn't and we had been friends for years. I had done so much to her... She just wouldn't.
"I beg you, " I almost choked up. It was the same feeling I had all those years ago in front of the Gryffindor common room and I would feel the pain again after she also told me that she wouldn't forgive me.

Y/n pov.
Did he beg? Why would he care if I forgave him or not? I turned around meeting Severus sad black eyes immediately.
"It's okay, " was all I could choke up.

Severus pov.
Her words hit me like a train.
It's okay? It's okay?! How could she even say that? I treated her like garbage... Insulted her... Made her feel like a nothing for years... And she thought it was okay? My eyes stung. How did I deserve such kindness?

Y/n pov.
Severus looked very hurt like he was about to lose it completely.
"How?" Was all he mumbled. Stepping up to me.
"Because you matter a lot to me, " was my simple response.
His hand reached out for my cheek. Wait what?

Severus pov
I couldn't help myself. I reached up to her face and wiped away some of her tears with my thumb, holding her face gently. I had actually expected her to pull away immediately but to my big surprise, she did the exact opposite. She hesitantly closed her eyes leaning into my touch.
How was any of this real?
