I had to get behind this fire thing. Was I nuts?
I spent all my nights in the library searching for a logical explanation for what happened that night on the astronomy tower. I had to ask Professor Dumbledore there was no way around it. I decided to pay him a visit on the same evening I gave my research up. He told me his password so I could just walk up the stairs and knock on his door.
"Come in," I headmasters voice.
"Good evening headmaster, " I greeted him.
"Take a seat (Y/n). What brought you here?"
"I came to ask you a question..." I began. "I already tried to do some research on the topic but I couldn't find anything...
One night when I was on the astronomy tower something weird happened to me. One of my hands little up on fire and I felt a sudden power, strength and warm flow through my whole body I truly must sound insane but I think there's more to this. It has to be some kind of magic that is just unknown to me, " I told him hoping he wouldn't believe I was completely insane.
Dumbledore gave me a long unreadable look then he got up from his chair and started to search for a book behind him in one of the shelves.
"I do not believe you're insane (y/n), "
Dumbledore told me.
"There it is, " he announced pulling out a really old looking book out of his shelf.
"I always believed there was a direct translation from emotion to belief. You might not know this but I always tell Harry that love is the most powerful magic. It saved him that night Voldemort try to kill him, the love of his mother. But love can't only protect one if someone gives their life. It is known that in fights when wizards fought for a loved one their power is way more intense than usual. And if one fights in rage or ist deeply upset about something their magic expands beyond their normal range. There are many theories, many attempts to understand the connection between emotions and magic. The only logical explanation for this little " demon hand fire" would be an emotional state. That you naturally are able to translate your emotion into greater even wandless magic unnoticed until now. Did you think about something that upset you? something that is very important to you? someone, you love?" Dumbledore asked turning the pages of his book.
"Yes, I did, " I responded.
"Here, you see? There was one case of a wizard who had a similar experience as you described. It's from the seventeenth century. But this book explains that he was even able to control his powers and use them at his will. We need to examine this further but I think this is our best clue. Meet me in the d.a.d.a. classroom in half an hour. If this turns out to be true... Well, we will see when we get there... "
