CHAPTER 96 - JADEN

Isang bayan sa Bhutan ang aming pinuntahan. Nasa northern portion ito ng bansa na malapit na sa Himalayas.

"Our next destination is the kingdom of Bhutan. I believe that the Prime Guardian is in this area," sabi ni Eleazar habang pinapakita ang mapa ng nasabing lugar.

"Paano niyo po nalaman na nandiyan si Amadeus? Wala po ba traces ng Vasi or Karan sa lugar na 'yan?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Jade, I actually used the information that you gave us. I located those brilliant doctors who attended you when you were pregnant. All of them were last seen in Bangladesh. If we cannot find Amadeus, we can just try to locate those who are working for him."

Nabanggit ko na kay Eleazar na may ilang doktor ang umasikaso sa akin noong buntis ako. Kahit ang pangalan ng mga ilang scientists at chefs ni Amadeus ay naalala ko rin. Inimbestigahan silang lahat ni Eleazar at lahat sila ay na-report na patay na.

We presumed that Amadeus faked their death and gave them a tremendous amount of money to serve him.

"How can you be so sure that the Prime Guardian is in Bhutan when his doctors are all in Bangladesh?" tanong ni Chase kay Eleazar.

"I think the Amethyst is docked in an isolated and secluded port in Bangladesh, hence, his doctors are in the area. For the last twenty four hours, I hired a team to scan every corner of the city to locate Amadeus. One of the cameras caught him in a private hangar. He used a military helicopter to go to Bhutan," sabi ni Eleazar sabay turo sa isang northern town sa Bhutan.

Eleazar flashed a picture of Amadeus. Ibinigay ko sa isang artist ang description ni Amadeus at mahusay niyang na-iguhit ang isang facial composite drawing ni Amadeus kaya madali namin siyang nahanap. Ayoko sana itong gawin sa kanya, pero wala akong choice dahil ninakaw niya sa akin ang anak ko.

Amadeus is very cautious. Why was he easily caught in a camera? Did he deliberately show himself for us to follow him?

"Is that the Prime Guardian Amadeus? Damn! He has a fine ass!" sabi ni Addie habang nakatingin sa picture ni Amadeus na na-capture sa camera.

"I concur. That dude is close to perfection. No homo though," pagsang-ayon naman ni Chase.

Biglang tumayo sa upuan si Raphael at pumunta sa kanyang kwarto sa private plane ni Eleazar. Mabilis ko naman siyang sinundan dahil parang may bumabagabag sa kanya. Kahit nakabalik na ko, pansin ko na palaging tahimik si Raphael. Hindi ko alam kung dahil sa pagkawala ng anak namin o dahil may iba pang dahilan.

"Raphael, are you okay?" tanong ko at umupo ako sa kama katabi niya.

"I am fine. I have just been feeling tired lately. Siguro dahil may iba ng Vessel ng Immortal Blood bukod sa akin. I am slowly becoming human. I am losing my immortality."

"Are you scared of dying?"

"I have attempted numerous times to end my life. No, I was not scared of dying. But I am scared of losing you, Jade Cardwell," Raphael said as he cupped my face.

"Losing me? That will never happen again. I am now a Protector. I vowed to protect you and our son."

I dared to kiss Raphael's lips. For months, I have been longing to taste his lips again. And now, kissing him feels like forever and I do not want to let go of this reality.

In a split second, I felt the cold wind brushing on my face. I immediately opened my eyes and I could see myself standing on top of rock near a cliff. I can see the overlooking valley and the ice-capped mountains.

"She will love it here. Just the sight of the icebergs already excites her. These mountain ranges will surely exhilarate her more."

Paglingon ko sa pinanggagalingan ng boses, nakita ko si Amadeus na nakatayo sa tabi ko. Kung sino man ang kausap niya ngayon, sa kanya ko nasasaksihan ang mga pangitain na ito.

"You sound pathetic. Do you miss her? Almost every word that comes out of your mouth is about her."

"Am I sensing some sort of jealousy here?" nakangiti na tanong ni Amadeus.

"Jealousy, my ass! I know you love me more!"

"You sound confident, my son. I have been loving her for centuries. And you kiddo, I just met you a few months ago."

"And yet, you love me more, Father! I am sure even your sexy ass will die for me!"

Napuno ng tawanan ni Amadeus at ng isang batang lalaki ang buong lugar. Hindi ko alam kung sino ang kasama niya, pero hindi nabanggit sa akin ni Amadeus na may anak siya.

Biglang tumalon si Amadeus mula sa napaka taas na batuhan. Sinundan siya ng batang lalaki na tila wala ding takot sa pagbulusok nila sa bangin. Nang marating nila pareho ang lupa, bigla silang tumakbo nang napaka bilis. Nasaksihan ko na noon ang bilis ni Amadeus, pero hindi ko akalain na masa-saksihan ko ulit ito sa isang pangitain.

Nagulat na lang ako nang pareho silang tumatakbo sa ibabaw ng isang ilog. Hindi ako dapat magtaka kung kaya ito ni Amadeus, pero ang batang kasama niya ay kaya rin tumakbo sa ibabaw ng tubig. Nang makita ko ang repleksyon ko sa tubig, nakita ko ang isang batang lalaki na nasa kanyang early teen years.

Huminto silang dalawa sa paanan ng bundok. Hinawakan ng batang lalaki ang isang mabato na bahagi ng bundok at nagkaroon ito ng doorway na parang nasa liquid form. Isang portal-like na butas.

"Are you sure you are the Prime Guardian?" nakangiti na tanong nito kay Amadeus.

"You are getting cocky, son. Are you ready?"

"To kill you? I was born to kill you, Father."

"All along I thought I was the most wicked creature on Earth. Now here you are, Mr. Nefarious Jaden Jasper."

"Nefarious? Baka gorgeous, and sexy smartass, Father!"

Nagtawanan uli si Amadeus at ang batang lalaki bago tuluyan silang pumasok sa a loob ni Amadeus.
