Only his surrogate

Eight four.

Two weeks past.
Grace was holding on, Leyton saw her almost every day. Everything around us was changing before our eyes. The only thing standing strong was our businesses and our children who had no care in the world but to get messy and live their life which is exactly how it's meant to be.

I was nearly half way pregnant already, I forgot how quickly it goes. We had our gender scan in a few days, we booked it early, mainly because we didn't know how long grace had we wanted to share the news with her.

I continued to stay strong and upright for our family, making sure the kids were well looked after kept busy not asking questions, I mean it's sad they don't really know their grandma but I'm glad they're not asking however many questions constantly!

"Aubrey!! Please!!" Leyton snapped. He's never done that in his life, not to our children. I stopped what I was going and went to get her from his company.
She looked sad.

"Daddy mad?" She says quietly as she twirls my hair in her fingers. "No honey. Daddy is just tired .." I smiled. My heart broke slightly. "Why don't you go play with your brother, and then we'll go have bath time soon!" Aubrey soon smiled and ran into the garden.

"I'm sorry" Leyton whispered from the chair. "It's ok ... you've got a lot on, she doesn't understand. She just wanted to cuddle you that's all ..." "I shouldn't of snapped like that .." he sighed.
"Go to bed ... sleep ... you're exhausted. I'll be up once I've sorted the twins out" I kissed him lightly upon the head before heading outside to get Aubrey and Alfie for their bath.

"Mommy, where's daddy?" They know he usually always does bath time so I guess it's weird for them.
"Daddy's tired baby, he's gone to bed. How about we have a bedtime story?" I smiled.

We read their favourite book together twice before they both fell asleep to the music of their projector.

I kissed them both goodnight before clearing up the bathroom and heading into bed myself, Leyton snoring quietly away.

This must be the first time he's slept in about two weeks. I didn't wanna disturb him so I climbed into bed as quietly as I could.

This just feels like a never ending roller coaster that seems to only be going downwards.
