Ling's POV
"He's awake! He's awake! Baxia, Chang'e, he's awake!" I heard someone yell excitedly. It sounded like a female voice. I opened my eyes to examine my surroundings. A very bright light blinded me, causing me to cover my eyes with my hands, which were wrapped in bandages. I seriously need to know what happened.
After getting over the blinding light, I sat up with much difficulty. A girl was sitting on my bed. A girl with her brown hair tied up into two buns. A girl who had tiger stripes on her face. A girl who had eyes so beautiful it was beyond compare, you can tell even though they were trying to hide behind her tears.
"Who... who are you?" I asked, not knowing who she was, or why she was crying or to begin with, sitting on my bed. And how did I get here? "Y-you d-d-don't r-r-remember me?" She looked at me with those beautiful, sad eyes, her voice trembling due to I don't know what. I shook my head, cause that's my answer. I. Don't. Know. Her. But even so, my heart started to throb, weirdly enough.
That was when the tears she tried so hard to conceal trickled down her cheeks like water cascading over rocks.
Then, a big grey guy and a short little girl sitting on a moon came into the room. "Wanwan, what happened?" The grey guy asked. The little girl glided over to the girl on my bed and comforted her. What did I do wrong.
"You ungrateful little brat! Wanwan saved you, and you decide to break her heart by pretending you don't know her! If I had known earlier, I would have asked her to leave you to die!" The grey guy hollered, bursting my eardrums. I went temporarily deaf. And soon, I blacked out for a brief moment, and during that brief moment, I regained my ability to hear again.
"Oh, Baxia! What did you do?"
"I thunked him on the head with a flower pot. Aren't finches supposed to have special brains so that they won't get concussions?"
"That's a woodpecker!"
"Shh! He's waking up!"
I opened my eyes. Baxia, Chang'e and Wanwan's faces so close to mine, they looked huge, and two of which were threatening to kiss me, while the other one, inviting one to her lips. It was so tempting, yet dangerous. If I lift up my head the wrong way, I might kiss Baxia or Chang'e, then Zilong will come charging at me, wanting to chop off my head, while yelling, "HEROES NEVER FADE!"
I used my bandaged hands to pull Wanwan closer to me, and pressed her body against mine. Baxia and Chang'e moved away, before running (or gliding and stumbling) out the room.
That was when I received a slap on the face. My cheeks burned red and I looked her in the eye, with utmost confusion. "I was worried sick, don't do that again," she said, before caressing the place where her iron palm had just landed. "It doesn't hurt right?" She asked, with such tender loving care, it was as though she were my mother, just that you can't french kiss your mother, cause that was exactly what I did next.
After awhile, she pushed away, smiled, and teased, "How are you as charming as you were before you were injured?" I shrugged, happy for a moment, which quickly switched over to pure concern when she started coughing onto my face. Not a big deal, she vomited on me before. She covered her mouth with one hand, the other signalling sorry for spitting all over your face, and her face contorted in sheer agony. I have no idea what is going on, I just patted her on the back. Suddenly, she got up ran out of the room, leaving my to sit there, alone, with my arm still stretched out to the place where her back initially was.
Is she... hiding something from me?
