Ling's POV

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Zilong yelled. I think I knew, must be some rising platform or something again. Just as I was about to open my mouth and say what I thought it was, the Great Dragon, also known as Zilong and Chang'e's master, raised his hand and smiled. "Sorry, I am too hungry," he apologised.

Awkward silence.

"So, uh, shall we get some food?" Zilong asked, breaking the silence. Mutters of approval sounded from everyone, and everyone nodded.

So then, everyone headed to the nearby café, forgetting all about the reason why we came here, and I think we are forgetting something else...

Anyways, the café, right. So, we walked over and found out it was completely empty, except for the staff. If I am not wrong, this was probably the most busy café in the whole of Cadia Riverlands. No one.

Okay, weird sign number two. Number one was the rising platform. Zilong, Chang'e, Baxia, and the Great Dragon sat at one table. Just as I went over to join them, Zilong shoved me away to a table for two people far far away from theirs. He did the same to Wanwan.

So now we are sitting together at a table, by ourselves. Great, thank you very much Zilong for abandoning me at Awkward Town. "I'll go get some food. What do you want?" I asked, desperate to get away, even for a short while, yet, I want to stay... What is this weird phenomenon?

"Uh, hello? Ling?" Wanwan waved her hands in front of me, trying to snap me out of whatever I was daydreaming about. I shook my head, completely forgetting about the daydream I just had, and listened to what Wanwan had to say. "I want a plate of chicken rice please. Oh, and also order tea for two, that is, if you want it?" She told me. I took down everything in my head and went off to order a bowl of soup noodles, a plate of chicken rice, and a tea set for two. What, kind? She never specified. So, I just ordered Chrysanthemum tea. Zilong was still sitting at his seat, smiling and making weird hand gestures, talking about I don't know what. I walked back to my seat and sat through another session of awkward silence.

I'm going to say one thing.

THEIR SERVICE IS AMAZING.

About two minutes after I placed my order, they served everything to the table, everything there, everything made to perfection. We thanked the waitress and tucked in.

"Ling, I have something to say to you. I know it's very obvious and this is probably not the right place and right time to do it but I don't want to end up regretting my life choices," Wanwan said abruptly, interrupting the silent meal we were having. "Ling, I like you. I like you very, very much. I don't know why, but I do!" She continued, causing me to spit out the mouthful of noodles in my mouth. I looked up at her, first apologising for the messy mess I had just made, before saying what I had to, "Wanwan, I like you too. Neither of us know why, nor how, but it doesn't matter." Knowing that if she had the guts to confess her feelings, I should have enough guts to promise her something, right? And like I say, fortune favours the bold. I took a huge, and when I say huge I mean HUGE, breath in, and a huge breath out. Okay, here goes nothing.

"Wanwan, I promise I will marry you one day. Promise," I told her, clasping her hand in mine, dodging the bowls of food and the pot of tea.

That was when she started tearing up.

"W-what's wrong? Did I say anything wrong? A-are you okay?" I asked, worried I may have shocked her. She shook her head and got up from her seat. She walked over to mine, and held my face, before quickly moving in for my lips...

"OOOOH!"

The whole café started clapping and cheering for us.

Okay, this is a whole new level of awkwardness.
