This chapter is to make up for tomorrow as I don't think I can update tomorrow.
Ling's POV
In case you do not know, my sister does not have the best grip in the world. Back when we were younger, like very very young, and when our relationship was very good, my parents called her butter-fingers. And she hasn't lost this ultimate skill of losing grip when she's not supposed to, I can tell. How? The Orb of Protection just slipped out of her hands, and dropped onto the ground, splitting into perfect halves.
That was when we all started to question the Orb.
The little musical instruments inside flew out of the Orb, playing Chinese music as the glided through the air. How strange. After a few moments, the instruments fell back into the Orb, and te Orb sealed itself perfectly. I shifted my gaze from the Orb to everyone's faces. All of them were still staring at the Orb in pure, utter confusion.
Just then, a bright glow appeared out of nowhere, and a girl emerged from the glow. This feels so damn familiar, where have I seen this? After adjusting my eyes to the light, I realised who the person was, and I immediately got down on my knees.
"Your holiness, Lunox," Zilong, Baxia, Chang'e, Wanwan and I said in-unison. Yu Zhong and Luo Yi didn't even give a damn. Lunox didn't even give us a damn. She just walked straight past us and picked up the Orb of Protection, or the supposedly Orb of Protection, and examined it carefully before laughing, "Oh, silly me, this is not the Orb of Protection, this is the Chinese Orbchestra! I think I'm getting old too quickly, my eyes are failing me already!" After that, she walked through the veil of light, turned around for a quick moment to wave goodbye, and left with the Chinese Orbchestra.
That was a combination of awkward, random and completely wrongly-timed.
As soon as she left, the veil of light disappeared, and whoever was on their knees, kowtowing to the Goddess who barely cared, got up. And the fight was about to begin. How many times have I said this already? Anyways, we got into our battle stances, Yu Zhong standing in the front area of his half of the battlefield, while Luo Yi stood in the shadows, awaiting any little prey to fall victim to her trap. I would say it's a failed trap, but anyways. The five of us just stood in a straight line, awaiting for the signal to charge.
If you want to know what the signal was, I'll tell you.
The signal was...
When someone jumps.
That being said, if no one jumps, the battle will not begin. Hopefully no one does.
And just as I thought of that, Baxia jumped up and grabbed onto Zilong for support.
"INSECT! INSECT!" He screamed and shouted, using his leg to shoo the ant away. How interesting, I guess it's time for me to take flight.
At that moment, a dragon flew out of Yu Zhong and into the sky. That was our cue to attack.
"Let's take him from the side!" Zilong yelled
The both of us leapt into the sky and lunged towards Yu Zhong. To him, we were measly little houseflies waiting to get swatted to death. With a swing of his arm, he managed to send Zilong and I flying further than I could possibly fly in one moment. While I was flying, I managed to catch a glimpse of what was going on, except everything was a blur.
Big, grey guy whom I assume is Baxia uses his fists to smash down on Yu Zhong. Yu Zhong uses his iron fist to punch him in the gut, causing him to topple over in sheer agony, I can feel it. Wanwan, her eyes were glistening with tears. If you can tell that while flying, that must be a lot of tears. Either that or super-sonic vision. And just then, I felt a strong impact on my back, and knew, it was the end. We were fighting a losing battle.
