"That's what I thought. Goodbye, Jordan."Jordan didn't bother watching as Dahlia left his room. He couldn't watch her walk away. As he heard his door shut, he turned to look at it before shutting his eyes, feeling a fresh set of tears spill out.
"Bye, Doll."
The moment he was alone, Jordan pulled out his phone and began scrolling through different pictures of him and Dahlia. Every picture brought up a different memory, and with each scroll, Jordan found himself becoming more and more depressed.
Thinking about not having Dahlia in his life anymore made Jordan feel like he was suffocating, desperately scraping for his next breath before his heart exploded.
He shut his eyes tightly, picturing Dahlia and trying to remember what her voice sounded like, but suddenly, his memories of her began to fade. As he tried to recall different features on his face, he was drawing a blank, and panic began to set in.
Suddenly, his body was jerked forward and as he shot up, a few beads of sweat fell down his forehead and chest while he panted heavily in his sweat-soaked bed.
"Yo, Prescott, you okay, man?"
Jordan's wild eyes scanned the room in a frenzy before they darted over to Marcus, who was walking into their room, trailed by Kat, both holding fast food takeout cups.
"Where- where's Dahlia?!"
Kat and Marcus looked at each other for a moment before Marcus lightly nudged his girlfriend. Jordan looked at her confused, holding his breath and hoping his nightmare was nothing more than that, and not some kind of prediction.
"In our room. She- she just got back from her date."
Jordan hopped off his bed and slid his sandals on before he grabbed his key and dashed out of the room.
Taking the stairs two at a time, he reached the second floor in just a few seconds, and quickly rushed down the hall to her room, not bothering to stop to talk to some guy who shouted out his name.
He needed to get to his girl and he didn't have any more time to waste.
Jordan's nightmare had done a great job in both scaring him and shocking his system.
After knocking, Jordan waited at the door for what felt like an eternity before Dahlia opened the it slowly, wearing a pair of red plaid shorts and one of Jordan's old sweatshirts.
