"Char, maybe you should talk to her. Let her hear it from you, honey."

Charlotte sighed and began to nod slowly, knowing her husband was right.

She needed to talk to Dahlia.

As she approached Jordan and Dahlia's bedroom door, she took a few calming breaths before peeking into the room, where she saw her son comforting a weeping Dahlia, who was curled up on the bed.

"Come on, baby. You know that's not true. There's no way my mom could ever hate you."

"Jordan, you saw that look on her face. I knew she'd be surprised, but I didn't think she'd-- she looked disgusted."

Charlotte shook her head, feeling a sudden rush of guilt wash over her. After lightly knocking on the door, she took a small step inside.

"Can I come in?"

Jordan shut his eyes and released a sharp breath through his nose as he clenched his jaw.

"Not now, Mom."

"Jordy, please? I just want to apologize to Lia."

Jordan's face softened the moment he looked down at Dahlia. After wiping the tears from her cheek, he kissed her forehead and rubbed her belly, before leaving the bedroom.

Dahlia sat up, bending her knees, protectively wrapping her arms around them, refusing to make eye contact with Charlotte.

"First off: I could never hate you, Lia. I love you, sweetie. So, so, so much. And... despite my reaction out there, I am happy."

Dahlia sniffled and shrugged, keeping her eyes focused on the floor.

"Could've fooled me."

Charlotte sighed before taking a seat on the foot of the bed.

"And that's my fault. I guess when you told me, I somehow got thrown back in time to when I was that scared teen mom, doing it all by myself."

When Dahlia looked up and saw the regret and guilt in Charlotte's eyes, she knew the older woman hadn't been trying to purposely hurt her feelings.

"All I could think about was being 19 and on my own with Jordan-- scared and alone-- and... I just didn't want that for you, sweetheart."

Charlotte reached over and gave Dahlia's leg and gentle rub as a soft smile broke out on her face.

"But, I know that's not gonna happen. That boy of mine-- who's no doubt listening on the other side of the door-- loves you more than anything. And he's gonna be an amazing dad."
