That year we finally had Christmas together on the actual day since Daddy didn't have a game that week. Him and some of his teammates wanted to do something special for their families, so they rented a huge villa in the Bahamas.Tristan was there and we got to hang out every day!
We went swimming in the ocean on our first day and we saw a bunch of fishes. Mommy said they had a place where we might be able to see turtles, too!
It was our third day there and tomorrow was Christmas Eve. Tristan and I were sitting next to each other at the kid's table. As we were all served our breakfast, I saw the way Tristan's face scrunched when he picked around his cantaloupe.
With a smile on my face, I leaned over, stabbing my fork into a piece of Tristan's cantaloupe before I popped it into my mouth.
He sighed in relief and smiled at me.
"Thanks, Bunny. I hate cantaloupe."
With a mouthful of melon, I nodded and went for another piece.
"More for me."
We sat at the table for a while, since we were mostly just playing around. Mommy decided to go to the spa with the other mommies so I was gonna get to spend the afternoon with Daddy.
We were still eating breakfast when Tristan's dad came over and told us Nate would be arriving later that day. The excitement was instantly on my face as I squealed.
"Nathan's coming?"
"He sure is. You kids finish up in here, then we're gonna take you guys on a little hike before Nate gets here.
As Tristan's dad walked back over to the grownup table, I had my fork ready to take another piece of cantaloupe, Tristan slid his plate away from me before picking it up and walking over to sit with his dad.
✨
Tristan must've been cranky and needed a nap or something because he was feeling better a few hours later.
Me and Daddy were already playing in the pool when Tristan and his dad joined us.
Tristan's dad and Daddy ended up seeing who could throw their kid higher in the air as they threw us into the pool.
Daddy was just about to launch me when Mommy came outside, rested, and relaxed from the spa. All that relation was out the window when she saw what Daddy was about to do.
"Jordan Nelson..."
Daddy laughed for a second before preparing to throw me into the pool.
"But, Doll-- she loves it-- watch."
Daddy threw me just like he had been and I curled up into a ball, ready to hit the water.
"Wheeeeee!"
When I emerged from the water, Mommy had calmed down a little, but still told me and Daddy to be careful.
Tristan and his dad had just gotten out of the pool for their turn, so me and Daddy waited in the shallow end. The back door slid open just as Tristan was getting launched, and I squealed seeing who it was.
"Nate!"
I ran up the steps out of the pool and straight over to him, wrapping my arms around him.
I couldn't believe how much I had missed him.
"Sunny Jaymes, let the poor boy go... you're getting him all wet!
I tried to back away when I heard Mommy's voice, but I couldn't; Nate wouldn't let go.
"Or not."
She put her hands up in defense and smirked, looking over at Daddy who huffed and rolled his eyes.
I was still hugging Nate but opened my eyes in time to see Tristan climbing out of the pool, stomping back inside the house, ignoring his dad calling his name.
"Tris! Tristan, come on!"
