"It's no worries, Jordan. With how happy she was when she came back from Spring Break, I knew there's no way she would want to go with anyone but you."
Jordan smiled to himself, thinking about his girlfriend and her loyalty as his Uber pulled up to the lakeside house in Orlando. The mid-May breeze had finally arrived and as he walked up the driveway, he could hear music coming from the backyard.
"Hey, I'm coming through the back right now. Where are you guys?"
"Chill out, Whiteboy. Your girl is almost done getting ready. I'm finna go get her and we'll be down soon."
Jordan huffed as he pushed the side gate open, immediately greeted by a waiter holding some type of sparkling drink.
As he made his way further into the backyard, he saw a few other guys in tuxedos scattered around the backyard, most of whom seemed to be waiting for their dates as well.
"It's the same thing every year with these girls, man. They'll probably be announcing King and Queen by the time we all get there."
"Yeah, but in the end, it's worth it. Dude, I still can't believe Dahlia Winters is actually going to Prom, though. Didn't she say she wasn't going with anyone but that long-distance boyfriend of hers?"
Jordan's ears perked up as the guys kept talking about his girl, and as the conversation continued, an annoyed grimace was painted on his face as he adjusted his peach bow tie.
"I don't know about all that, but, I for one can't wait to see that ass in something tight."
"Connor, man, you're a fool. Oh, shit, here they come."
