Dahlia smiled down at the growing baby propped up on the pillow in front of her. Dahlia's father, who'd been in town off and on ever since Sunny was born, stared in awe at his daughter, as tears welled up in his eyes.

Dahlia looked over at him when she heard him sniffle, and gave him a confused smile.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just-- you look just like her."

"Who? Mom?"

He nodded as he sat forward.

"Yeah, I've been thinking about her lately, ya know... ever since you had the baby. I know she'd be proud of you."

Dahlia looked down at Sunny, before back up at her dad with an unsure smile on her face.

"You think? Even after dropping out of college to have a baby?"

Dahlia's dad sat back and took a deep breath, tilting his head as a small smile found his face.

"I think that if she had been around to witness it, she would have realized early on just like I did-- you and Jordan were always gonna do things your guy's own way."

Dahlia gave a little smirk as she shrugged, knowing her dad was right.

"Guess I can finally admit that I saw all of this coming was sooner than it did."

"Really?"

"Oh, definitely. I for sure thought I was gonna be a graying grandpa back when you were in high school."

Dahlia looked up from Sunny and over at her father with a look of shock on her face.

"Dad!!"
