As per their Christmas tradition, Jordan and Dahlia were playing their guessing game. Midnight was a few minutes away, and they would have to give their final guess before the exchange.
Dressed in matching red and white striped onesies, Jordan and Dahlia were sitting together on the couch, drinking hot apple cider and digging into the gingerbread house they'd finished the night before.
As Jordan broke off a piece of the house and dipped it into his cider, Dahlia watched with her mouth gaped open and a shocked look on her face.
"What?"
"I wanted that."
Jordan smiled as he watched his wife pout, knowing her- or rather the baby's- sweet tooth was getting the best of her the past few days.
"What? So I can't have any?"
"Nope."
Jordan's head cocked back as he chuckled before he saw Dahlia dipping a giant chunk of the house in her cider.
"I mean-- I am eating for two."
"You know you only get to use that for another two months, right?"
Jordan's smile grew at his own question; it seemed like he had been counting the days ever since their doctor gave them a due date.
"Can you believe it? Jordy-- we're about to be parents. This time next year, she's gonna be here."
"Walking and talking and turning Daddy's hair grey."

After opening their gifts and watching one of their favorite Christmas movies, The Grinch, Jordan and Dahlia settled into bed to do something they'd been doing the last few nights-- trying to come up with a name.
"What about Cindy? Like the little Whoo from the movie..."
"Hmm? Cindy Prescott.."
Dahlia thought about it for a second and shook her feel, feeling a bad taste in her mouth.
"Jordan, no! It's way too close to that girl's name from the Scream movies."
Jordan stopped and thought about it, chuckling to himself before tossing the idea.
"Ivy?"
"Ehh..."
"Rose?"
"No."
"Lily...?"
Dahlia laughed and looked over at Jordan shaking her head.
"Babe, what's going on? You're really getting into this flower-name thing, aren't you?"
Jordan shrugged and scratched the back of his head, looking at Dahlia like she was crazy.
"Can you blame me? This little rosebud's mom is the best thing that's ever happened to me. What do you think, hmm, Rosebud?"
Jordan had taken the time to scoot down and lift Dahlia's shirt, asking the baby her opinion on her name, when Dahlia crossed her arms over her chest.
"We are absolutely not naming her Rosebud."
"Sunflower?"
Dahlia stopped and thought about her baby girl, and smiled after a few moments looking down at Jordan, who was still enthralled by her rounding tummy.
"Sunny..."
Jordan's head snapped up and as his eyebrows knitted together in contemplation.
"Hmm... Sunny Prescott."

A moment after the words left his mouth, Dahlia shifted awkwardly in bed, feeling the baby suddenly kicking up a storm.
"Oh, wow! Okay... Sunny, we get it, Mamas. You like your name!"
Jordan held onto Dahlia's belly, loving the way the kicks felt against his face, before pulling back and looking up at Dahlia who had tears in her eyes.
