Since Dahlia and Sunny joined Jordan in Miami for his Thanksgiving Day game, they hadn't gotten the chance to spend the holiday with their family, so they decided to have their family and friends over their place in California for an afternoon Christmas dinner.
After all of the holiday merriment, most people had gone back home, with the exception of Kat and Marcus, who were just about to head out.
Dahlia, who had just seen her father off, turned around and was nearly tackled at the knees by her rambunctious almost-two-year-old.
"Mommy! Mommy! Ma, look, Sunny budafwy!"
Dahlia sat on the third to last step in front of her house, watching her daughter completely spaz out as she jumped down each stair.
"A beautiful butterfly, my baby girl."
Sunny jumped back up the steps, nearly falling over as she landed in front of Dahlia, who caught her tiny wrists and steadied her.

"Whoa, Bunny! What did you get into?"
Sunny leaned up and gave her mom a kiss, before trying to back away, with a mischievous grin on her face.
"Unko Mawk gimme Pessi."
Dahlia's eyebrows knit together as she stood Sunny in front of her, holding her tiny waist.
"He gave you what?"
"Pessi. Da blue."
Dahlia thought about it for a moment, then stood once she figured it out. Picking Sunny up, she headed back inside, to see Kat and Marcus heading towards the front door with Jordan just behind them.
"Pepsi, Uncle Marcus? Really?"
The guilty smile on Marcus's face made Jordan chuckle, which only irked Dahlia more. Looking over to Kat, she smirked devilishly as she set a hyper Sunny on the ground.
"I can't wait until you pop one out. Auntie Lia's giving it all of the sugar."
Both Jordan and Dahlia noticed the look Kat gave Marcus and the one he gave back to her.
Sunny's parents gave each other a look before Jordan finally spat out what he and his wife were both thinking.
"Wait, Kat-- you're pregnant?"
Kat and Marcus looked at each other again and their smiles were all they needed to confirm the news.
Dahlia's devilish smile switched to a softer one, and as tears welled in her eyes, she turned to her best friend, wrapping her arms around the mom-to-be.
