The sympathetic smile Dahlia sent Connor's way that Monday morning back in class was enough to let him know why she didn't need any time to decide.

The smirk from Jordan as Connor passed them on his way to his seat, let him know Dahlia's decision was pretty much made before he had even asked her out.

Like she said at the end of their date just two nights ago after Connor went in for a kiss...

It would always be Jordan

It would always be Jordan.

Class flew by quickly, and as she was packing up her things, Dahlia looked back over at Connor, who was packing up his bag as well, a sunken, solemn look on his face.

"Hey, um...I'm gonna- I'm gonna catch up to you, okay?"

Jordan's steely gaze followed over to where Dahlia was staring and as his eyes bounced back over to her, he sighed in annoyance but nodded.

"Don't be too long."

Dahlia nodded and bit her lip as she set out to follow Connor out of the lecture hall. She zeroed in on the shaggy brunette just as he made it to the stairwell.

"Connor, wait up!"

Connor stopped and sighed, but didn't turn around, already knowing it was Dahlia and what was coming next.

Dahlia jogged ahead until she was standing in front of Connor, feeling his intense stare bearing down on her.

"So, look--"

Connor interrupted Dahlia as he nodded his head.

"You and Prescott are back together. That didn't take long."

Dahlia blew out a breathy sigh of relief as she saw a smile creeping onto Connor's face.

"Connor, I don't want you to think I led you on. You're really are a great guy, I just--"

"I get it, Lia. You two have history."

Dahlia glanced over Connor's shoulder and smiled at an awaiting Jordan for a moment before her eyes found Connor's again.

"Yeah, you could say that. So... friends?"

The smile on Connor's face slowly fell and was soon replaced with a rigid scowl.
