The chestnut-haired boy opened his eyes and looked around, visibly not able to see any of the five friends that he knew were currently hiding.
He looked around, noticing a weird fluttering coming from under the table that his mom had set up all the snacks.
"Shhhh, he's coming."
Another boy's voice whisper-yelled and Jordan smirked to himself, knowing Preston wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and that his little brother George was never far too behind him.
He backed away from the table, leaving the two brothers undisturbed as he continued his search.
He also ignored Annie and Billy, who were hanging out near the big slide on the playground. As he rounded the other end, he found his target.
He stopped for a second, watching as she attempted to keep her grip on the side of the back ladder, which from practically every angle, would go unnoticeable.
They'd found this spot while searching for ladybugs a few weeks ago, and Jordan knew it's where she'd be.
He crept around behind her, staying as quiet as possible as he approached her.
"Ha! Got you!"
Jordan happily yelled, watching as Dahlia hopped off the ladder and into view with a huff.
"Didn't tag me, yet!"
She laughed and was just about to make a run for it, but Jordan was a little quicker.
She didn't get a chance to escape as his hands quickly found her sides.
"No, no! Jordy, stop!"
Dahlia's laughing finally ceased when Jordan stopped tickling her, his tiny hands finding her face as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"You're it."
She smiled as she looked up at him, scrunching her nose.
"Whatever. I just let you catch me 'cause you're old now."
She stuck her tongue out and slipped out of his arms, heading straight for the snack table, leaving Jordan speechless, just for a moment.
