"Well, lookie who it is. New campus royalty, right over here, folks!"
Jordan rolled his eyes and smirked, 'bro-shaking' Marcus's hand before he and Dahlia sat across from Marcus and Kat. Kat turned the newspaper she had around and slid it in front of her two friends.
"It's true, ya know. They're calling you the New Kid on the Block."
Jordan smiled with pride as he glanced over the article in one of the city's leading newspapers.
After his first starting game, Jordan went on to win the next two games impressively. His playing had been so well received that for the past two weeks he'd been featured in the Top 10 Daily SportShotz on HollywoodNow.
"Jordan's mom called this morning. She read it online."
Dahlia chimed in as she began digging into her chili cheese fries. Jordan smirked, knowing how huge her appetite could be at times, before cautiously kissing her temple.
"Woke us up way too early, by the way."
Kat doubled-back in shock, her eyes nearly popping out as looked back and forth between Jordan and Dahlia.

"Wait-- Jordan, your mom knows you two sleep together?!"
Jordan and Dahlia gave each other a look before Jordan nudged his girlfriend, urging her to speak.
"Yeah, I mean-- Jordan and I have napped together since we were like... three."
"Maybe it was just napping back then, but ain't no way you two were just napping lastnight."
Everyone laughed at Marcus's comment and as Dahlia tilted her head on Jordan's shoulder, the quartet was greeted by a friendly face.
"Uhhm, hey, Lia."
Four sets of eyes turned to see Anthony standing there with a full tray of food. Dahlia smiled and waved, motioning for Anthony to take a seat, which he did, right next to Kat, directly across from Dahlia.
"You guys know Anthony, right?"
"Uhh, yeah. You're in my pop culture class, right?"
"Yeah!"
Anthony nodded and shook Marcus's extended hand, apologizing sheepishly to Kat for reaching over.
