"Have I told you how beautiful you look today, Mrs. Prescott?""Hmmm... not in the last twenty minutes."
Jordan reached over and grabbed Dahlia's hand, peppering it with kisses, mumbling against her hand between each peck.
"So. Fucking. Beautiful."
"All right, everybody! It's time for presents!"
As Godmother, Kat had taken the lead for hosting baby Sunny's baby shower, and while everyone gathered near the parents-to-be, ready to watch them open their gifts, Jordan's mom was patiently waiting nearby with a pen and pad, ready to document all the gifts the couple was receiving.
Dahlia shifted in her seat and when he looked over, Jordan smiled, immediately recognizing the look on her face.
He reached over smiling as he felt the rumbling in her tummy.
"You okay?"
As she nodded, Dahlia gave Jordan a soft smile as she covered her hand with his.
"Sunny's on the move."
✨
After the baby shower at the godparents' house, Jordan and Dahlia arrived back at home, just as the sun was setting.
Jordan decided to leave all the gifts locked in the car for the night, opting instead to go inside with a very tired and hungry Dahlia, to get her settled in.
✨
"I don't want spinach..."
Jordan smirked, watching as his wifey focused on the past on her plate, completely ignoring the steamed veggie dish.
"But, baby, you need to eat something green, remember?"
"I don't want it."
Dahlia rolled her eyes poking at the spinach with a disgusted look on her face. Jordan sighed as a wide smile grew on his face.
"How about this... you finish the pasta while I run you a bath, and while you're in the tub, I'll make you a smoothie."
"Ooh, a smoothie?"
Jordan chuckled as Dahlia clapped happily, stabbing at a few noodles on her plate before popping the fork into her mouth. He kissed her temple tenderly before retreating to the bathroom.
✨
"All done?"
Dahlia nodded, and as Jordan took the empty glass from her, she smiled in content, settling back into bed.
Jordan set the glass down on the nightstand and began tucking Dahlia in. As he pulled away from a kiss on her forehead, it crinkled in confusion.
"You're not coming to bed?"
Jordan chuckled and nodded.
"I've got a little work I need to finish, but I'll be in soon."
"Promise?"
"Promise, Mamas."
Jordan leaned in and kissed her forehead once again, before pulling back the covers to place a kiss on her belly.
"You two get some sleep, okay?"
As Jordan left the bedroom, he sighed and chuckled, knowing that in comparison to how much he spoiled Dahlia, Jordan was going to spoil Sunny that much more.
