Early November rolled around, and it was Jordan and the team's bye-week, which meant the star-quarterback had the entire weekend to spend with his girl. The two were relaxing on their couch, cuddled up together as Jordan and Dahlia reminisced about their childhood.
"But, Jordy-- come on. You didn't have to break the kid's arm."
"Babe. The dude was like four or five years older than us, creepy-style running after down a hallway he shouldn't have even been in. Junior high kids were supposed on the other side of the building."
Dahlia sighed, remembering the moment she turned back after hearing the screeching cry come from Bryan Jennings, the boy who had been chasing her-- more like bothering her-- for the past few weeks.
"You tripped him."
"Doll, all I did was stick my foot out. I just wanted to see what would happen."
Jordan's nonchalant shrug and smirk made Dahlia shake her head and slightly smirk back at him.
"He shattered his ulna."
"Creepy little fucker should've picked someone else to chase. "
"You're crazy."
Jordan looked over with a half-smile, shrugging as he grabbed Dahlia's hand, kissing the inside of her wrist.
"Only for you, Doll."
✨
As Dahlia set a bowl of fresh fruit on the kitchen counter and returned to her bowl of cereal, she noticed a mischievous beam in Jordan's eyes.
"What?"
Jordan took a chunk of honeydew and popped it in his mouth before smirking at the love of his life.
"I was just thinking about that day with you and Kendra at lunch."
Dahlia rolled her eyes, thinking back to the day at lunch in the ninth grade when the new girl, Kendra Smithson, might not have realized just how close to the fire she got.
"Jordy..."
"What? Doll, you're just as crazy as I am."
Dahlia's glare softened as she grabbed a red grape and bit into it.
"Whatever, she shouldn't have been trying to sit in my spot."
"Babe, you made her cry."
"I barely yelled at the girl."
Dahlia shrugged as she popped another grape into her mouth, all the while being stared at by an amazedJordan.
"See... you're just as fucking crazy."
✨
About an hour later, Dahlia turned in her passenger seat to look over at Jordan, whose eyes were dancing across the road in front of them.
