Dahlia was on her way back to her place after a meeting with one of her professors. Confident that she would pass the class with at least a B on her final, Dahlia was a ball of energy as she made her way into the building.

She was nearly bowled over but luckily stepped back at the last minute as Marcus rushed down the stairs.

"Whoa... where's the fire?"

Dahlia stopped, noticing Marcus' eyebrows wound in frustration and his lips drawn tightly together.

"Not now, Lia."

"Hey... what's wrong?"

Dahlia reached out for Marcus' arm but he snatched it away as he stomped down the hall toward his and Jordan's room.

She looked up the stairs then back down the boy's hall wondering what could've possibly happened upstairs

Once inside her room, it wasn't hard to put two and two together. Dahlia lazily threw her backpack onto her bed and kicked off her sneakers, crawling onto Kat's bed.

"Kit-Kat, what happened?"

Kat couldn't speak. The tears and sobs bubbling inside weren't letting her for many words and as Dahlia pulled her in to let her cry, she felt like her insides were caving in.

"I ended it."

"What-- why?! I thought-- I thought you liked him."

"Lia, I do! That's the problem!"

Dahlia sat back and shook her head.

"Then, I don't get it. What's the problem?"

"We're different. I mean, there's so much he's done—stuff that I don't think I'm ready for."
