An End to a Busy Year

I gave my shopping list another careful scan as I approached the shopping street of my destination. For once my trip wasn't going to be only for food, I had a job now and had to be sure I was prepared for it. It was wild to think that I was actually going to be working in a hospital, and without the years upon years of school that I'd have to have. I was sixteen and going to teach other people, some of them older than me, how to heal. Absolutely ludicrous.

I was going to need hair ties for once to keep my hair out of the way, a calendar, notebooks and pencils, and of course I couldn't forget to grab some multivitamins for my boyfriend that apparently had passed out from exhaustion on multiple occasions and dislocated his shoulder last week, if the head of the hospital was to be trusted which I'm pretty sure she was.

All of this did make Sakura's disappearance all the more painful though, I wish she had been there to see me achieve my dream job, but, then again, I missed out on a lot of milestones for her I'm sure.

"Hi Hinata!" Lee's voice drew my eye from my list to Yui's cafe, seeing Lee, Shino, Shikamaru and Choji all sitting at an outdoor table.

"Hey," I walked over to their table, "What's going on with you guys?"

"Just chilling." Choji shrugged, eating some snack food as usual.

I smirked, "We've got quite the odd group here, hm?" Although that was certainly true, I was elated that Shino was hanging out with people and getting out of his comfort zone, especially with how terribly he was feeling.

"Yes, well," Shino sighed, "I thought it might be a good idea to be around people who don't belong in a psych ward."

Shikamaru let out a laugh, but Lee was less amused, "Hinata doesn't belong in a psych ward!"

The rest of us all did different variations of the 'Eh?' motion, and I chuckled, "Well, whether I belong in the psych ward or not, I'll be working there, so I guess you all better behave."

"Or maybe we'll try and pay you a visit." Shikamaru joked.

Choji looked up at me curiously, "You're working in the hospital?"

"Yeah, I'm going to be a teacher," I shook my head, "I still can't quite believe it myself."

"I'm sure you'll do wonderfully." Shino smiled kindly, maybe there was even a hint of pride there, "Or at least it'll give Kiba an excuse to injure himself."

I laughed, "Hopefully, I'll get him to stop doing that, but I guess I'll be working in the perfect place with a friend group like ours. I'm actually shopping around to prepare, so I should probably be going."

"Good luck!" Choji called after me as I walked off.

I turned back to wave, smiling to myself, it was nice to see all of them so relaxed and happy. They deserved it to be sure, and I could only hope things were going well for everyone else.

Now at the grocery store, I entered and immediately went to the produce to grab a few things that I needed, then heading over to the beauty section. Just as I had grabbed a pack of hair ties that probably were going to be lost to the ether by the end of the month like all hair ties are, Tenten came around to the isle.

"Oh! Hey, Hinata." She greeted, walking over and beginning to scan the perfumes, "I heard you got a job?"

"Yep, I'm going to teach medical jutsu." I replied, looking through the selection of bobby pins.

She grinned warmly, "That's incredible, I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks, I'm actually pretty excited myself." I placed a pack in my cart with a smile, "How are things for you?"
