"Karin, what's the status of the major job placements thus far?" I asked as we strolled through the newly refined streets of the central village.
"We have teachers, a police force, the farmers were taken care of long ago," she began listing, "a medical staff, a few politicians... we only have a few higher up jobs to fill I believe." she concluded.
I nodded, "Does everyone know what their job is? I'm particularly concerned with having qualified teachers."
Suigetsu smirked, "You tested the hell out of them; how are they not qualified?"
"I want to make sure that our education system is strong so that our village isn't full of dumbasses like you." I shot back at him.
Suigetsu gawked at me in offense, and Karin giggled into her hand, causing Suigetsu to groan, "You all are so mean to me!"
"You deserve it." Jugo smiled.
Suigetsu tried to get up in his face, standing in front of Jugo on his toes, "You wanna fight, big guy?"
Jugo just smiled down at him. Karin placed a placating hand on Suigetsu's shoulder, "We're just teasing, calm down." she soothed.
He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest and marching to walk in front of us. I shook my head, smiling back at the other two as we continued our survey of the progress.
"Are we sure the police are well trained too?" I hummed, "And the medical staff?"
"Hina, we trained the hell out of them." Karin frowned, "You approved of my testing, right?"
"I did..." I sighed.
"You need to relax." Jugo chuckled, "I think you're getting antsy because there's less for you to do."
"Speaking of which." Karin frowned, "I can tell that you're trying to avoid talking about one very important position."
"Yeah?" I prompted with a sense of dread.
"The kage!" Karin cried, "Who's going to lead this place!?"
"Isn't that obvious, Karin?" Suigetsu grinned back at us.
"I wasn't just going to assume that she'd appoint herself leader, jackass!" she fired back, looking back at me, "But seriously Hinata, we need a leader."
I stopped in my tracks, the rest of the group pausing around me, "I didn't want to talk about it because this decision rides on many personal choices that I still have not made for myself." I sighed, "But, I know that I do not want to be the Kage of this village."
Jugo and Suigetsu stared at me in shock. Karin shifted nervously, "Then who?"
I smiled turning to her, "I want you to be the Budokage."
Karin paled, taking a step back and waving her hands in denial, "No, I couldn't be the leader!" she shook her head, "I could never take on that amount of responsibility!"
Suigetsu glanced between her and me in disbelief, "Are you serious Hinata?"
I nodded, taking Karin's hands, "You're not going to be alone in this. You know that right?"
She shook her head again, "B-but, I don't think I'm suited to that kind of role! I'm not a leader; who would listen to me?"
I took a step back, mocking a thinking pose, "Oh, I don't know... the farmers that you helped direct to create our agricultural base, the coordinators in other parts of the village that you relayed our plans to, the police force you monitored, the medical staff you trained, the members of the Southern laboratory who followed us, who I must mention were already under your care per order of Orochimaru, and, most amazingly Suigetsu."
