I limped between containers and test chambers as I made my way to my target, pausing ever so often to try and heal. Would he even listen to me? Would he try and kill me? I only knew that he was supposed to join Sasuke in canon at some point, but would that work the same with me. I didn't know why, but it still felt right to find him.

I stopped in front of the largest, liquid filled tube and took a deep breath. Here goes nothing.

"Oh, hey, you came back!" Suigetsu's voice sounded from the tube, "Where are Orochimaru and- Hey!" he broke off with a confused shout as I pulled an arm back and punched the glass container, webbing cracks spidering across the surface.

Taking a step back, I lifted a foot to kick at the epicenter of the break, causing the case to shatter and the water to pool around my feet.

"What's the big idea, huh?" Suigetsu asked, "Orochimaru is gonna be pissed- unless..." His upper body began to rise from the water amethyst eyes meeting my pale one, "Did you actually do it!?"

"If you are asking if I killed him, I did." I answered uncertainty. Was this going well? I tried to keep my eyes on his face as he fully rose out of the water.

"No way, I didn't think you'd be the one to do that." he smirked walking a circle around me, my discomfort only increasing.

"Well," I held up a hand, showing Orochimaru's ring, "The circumstances required it."

I almost jumped out of my skin when he took my hand to examine the ring, "No way! He's actually dead! I'm actually free!"

"Yes, that's what I came here to do." I pulled my hand back, "And I have a proposition for you."

His eyes narrowed, studying my expression, "Why would I do anything for you?"

"You don't owe me anything." I answered simply, "I am just offering that if you would like to be traveling companions, and perhaps help me on my little quest." I shifted in place, not quite knowing how best to handle this frankly odd situation, "I would be happy to have you with me and might be able to help you with something as well."

"Hm." He turned around, hand at his chin as he contemplated, he then glanced back at me, giving me a once over. I saw something odd pass through his expression before he turned away from me, "Yeah, sure I'll go with you. On one condition."

"Name it." I stated, eyes narrowing in suspicion.

"Can I cop a feel?" he smirked.

I glared at him for a moment. Was he fucking serious? That couldn't be all he wanted? I carefully thought over if I might regret this, "Sure."

His eyes widened as his face fell in genuine shock, "Wait seriously?"

"Yeah, I mean," I glanced down at his chest, "It'd be nice if you put some clothes on first."

"S-sure!" he blurted, and I tossed him a set of clothes I had stolen.

"They're Kabuto's, so they're probably going to reek of desperation and snake nut." I warned.

Suigetsu shot me a confused, flustered look before quickly pulling the clothes on. Now being able to look at him properly, I sighed heavily and spread my arms out slightly, "Don't make me regret this." I grumbled.

He stared at me, eyes flicking from my body to my face before clearing his throat and putting on his usual aloof mask, "Can I save it?"

"'Save it'?" I repeated.

"Y'know for later." he clarified.

I lowered my arms but concluded arguing wasn't the best option, "Whatever makes you happy, but you need to let me know first. I don't like surprises."
