I woke up in a room with windows covering an entire wall. The brightness made me roll over, attempting to hide my face in my pillow. I didn't feel okay. Nothing felt okay. I resisted the urge to cry as I tried to assess what I was feeling.

My entire body hurt.

My back, shoulders, and legs all felt majorly sore from the constant strenuous physical activity. My lower back and legs in particular felt bruised. My right arm was in a sling, trying to move it resulted in a lot of pain. I had probably tore several muscles. My head hurt massively and my left eye socket burned.

Despite being utterly exhausted, I felt the urge to get up and move. I needed to see if everyone was okay. Keeping my breathing as even as possible, I gently pushed the blankets off of me and sat up. It hurt a lot more than I was expecting.

I scanned the room; it was empty. That was weird. I slowly opened the window, trying to make as little noise as possible. Cautiously, I peeked over the ledge to see a couple of guards.

Moving back inside, I unsteadily moved off of my bed and towards the door. I fearfully grabbed the knob with my left hand and turned it as slowly as possible. Peering through the miniscule crack, I saw another guard in a chair outside the door.

Panicking, I leapt back and closed the door, I dove for my bed, and pulled the sheets over my head. Nobody came through the door. I tentatively got back up and opened the door again.

The guard was asleep.

I let out an exasperated huff and opened the door. Turning to go down the hall, I had to muffle an exclamation of surprise when I saw another guard on the other side of the door... who was asleep.

I hugged my arms as I tried to recover from the false alarm. I wandered down the hall, hoping to find Sakura, to find anyone. There were a lot of empty rooms. As I began to race down the halls, being incredibly careful to avoid any nurses, my mind raced through a slew of horrific scenarios.

Everyone's in intensive care.

Everyone's abandoned me.

They all hate me.

Nobody's here because they're all dead.

I killed them.

All my racing came to a screeching halt as I heard a familiar mumbling down the hall. I ran to the doorway of the room and peeked in. Sakura was sitting in her bed surrounded by a mountain of books, scribbling away at a notebook. A flood of relief washed through me, and I almost found myself walking in.

I couldn't though; I couldn't face her right now. Where was everyone else? Were they all dead? I needed to know.

I ran back down the hall. I knew I couldn't just walk out the front, I was already lucky as it was. I needed to use a window. I started to run back to my room, but as I turned the corner I saw that my guards were awake. Out of fear I spun around and dove into the closest room, falling onto the floor.

Pushing myself up, I scanned the room I was in. My eyes fell on the bed. I was now in Lee's room. Pushing down my fight or flight, I noticed that he seemed to be asleep. I quietly tiptoed across his room to the window.

I opened it, enjoying the fresh air. As I pulled myself onto the sill, I heard a noise behind me.

Whipping around, my eye locked with Lee's as he stared at me groggily. Wordlessly, I turned back out of the window and jumped.

I landed clumsily onto the ground, not able to suppress a cry of pain as I crumpled. My eyes flickered about my surroundings.

The guards outside my window were fucking sleeping.
