I skipped down the streets happily, excited to see if my plan would work out. I just needed one more person. I scanned the streets. Where the heck could he be? I mean, I knew that he and Hinata were close and all, but he seemed to take everything really hard.
I stopped in my tracks as I saw a dog come skidding around the corner. "Akamaru!" I cheered as the dog came bounding towards me. I bent over to pet him. He's so cute! I frickin' loved dogs.
Kiba came around the corner, mildly agitated, "Dammit, Akamaru, you need to stop running ahead of me like that." he scolded as he ran up to us, "Oh, hey Naruto. How've you been?"
"I'm doing great!" I stood with a thumbs up, making him laugh a little.
"Jeez, how do you always manage to be in so good a mood?" he shook his head good-naturedly, gesturing for Akamaru to return to his side.
"I dunno!" I shrugged, "Anyway! I'm glad I found you. I was worried you wouldn't be out and about n' all."
"Yeah?" Kiba quirked a confused eyebrow, "Y'need something?"
"Well, I was just getting some guys together for ramen!" I grinned widely, "So far Shikamaru and Choji are coming!"
"That's... a great idea." he smiled back, "Actually, I can't remember when I last ate..." he looked off to the side trying to remember.
"Really? I can! Exactly two hours ago!" I declared proudly. Kiba raised a hand to his face, grinning despite himself.
"I cannot believe how much of a dork you are." he chuckled.
"Hey, I'm not a dork!" I defended with a pout.
"Lighten up dude, I'm complimentin' ya." Kiba sighed with a smile, "You're a damn ray of sunshine, and I know a lot of people need that right now."
"Well then," I leaned forward with a hint of mischievousness, "How about you join us then?"
Kiba let out a sigh, still smiling, "Fine, yeah, I'll go. Ichiraku's right?" he started walking.
"Yep, I wanted to make sure Akamaru would be able to come." I chirped as I followed after him.
"That's actually pretty nice of you." He noted.
"Give me some credit!" I huffed, "I do think sometimes!" Kiba laughed again at that.
"So, you all healed yet?" I asked, jabbing him in the side and making him yelp.
"H-Hey!" he clutched his sides protectively with an almost pout, "Yeah, I'm just about healed. What about you?"
"I mean, I wasn't really injured," I shrugged, looking back at him with a smirk, "That was a pretty cool move you pulled out there y'know." I moved to poke him again, "I didn't know you had it in you." he inched away.
"C-Cut it out dude!" he huffed, "And it was nothing. It was probably really stupid. I should've thought it over more before just acting." he scowled, seemingly more at himself than me.
"Cut yourself some slack!" I cried indignantly, "What the heck are you supposed to do against a guy that can, like, become you?" I asked.
"Dude, shut up." I glanced up at him, a little taken aback by the genuine look of discomfort on his face.
"What?" I defended, "It's not my fault you let your guard down and let that dude slip into you like that." I teased deviously, grabbing him by the shoulders with an evil smirk.
"Arg! God! Don't say it like that!" He spat, and I could feel him suppressing a shudder.
"Your cells were becoming one with his!" I continued to tease in an over dramatic tone.
