"I think we should begin the orchard here." I mumbled.
"Ya sure?" Ryota peered down at the map with a glare, "Kinda far from the water."
"We need a large, relatively flat space to grow the trees." I insisted, "Besides, that's what the irrigation is going to be for."
"Irrigation?" he glared down at the map.
"If we dig some pipes underground, or maybe even a well, we can transport water over a long distance." I explained.
"Oh..." he raised an eyebrow, "That's pretty cool."
"Yeah, and what would be even cooler would be planting various types of trees." I smiled, looking down at the map, "Citrus, apples, peaches, the valleys have such an ample amount of space."
"Ample?" Ryota mumbled.
"More than enough." I clarified.
"You damn educated types with your big fancy words." he grumbled.
I rolled my eyes good naturedly, "You'll have to deal with a lot more of them when I get the school set up."
"You got a lot of ideas kid." he sighed, "But I hope that you can make 'em happen."
"That's the plan." I grinned, rolling up the map to begin physically marking the area to begin the orchard. Just as I was about to leave, though, Karin and Suigetsu barged in.
"He's being such a pain!" Karin cried, shoving Suigetsu into the room.
"What!?" he whined, "Nobody told me what to do!"
"That doesn't mean you can go around being lazy and harassing girls!" Karin scolded.
"He what?" I flatlined.
"You're just mad because you're too much of an ugly cow to get a guy's attention." Suigetsu smirked.
Karin gasped in offense, "Well, at least I'm not desperate. Despite all your attempts, you haven't been getting attention either!"
Suigetsu spluttered, taken aback by the retort, "At least I have the confidence to try!"
"Wow!" I exclaimed, getting both of their attention, "Ryota, are we in the barn? Because all I'm hearing right now is a couple asses braying!"
Ryota glanced down at me in surprise, "Uh, nope, we're in a house."
"Huh," I laughed stiltedly, "Well then, I guess they must be my entourage."
Karin flushed, "I'm sorry, I should've realized you were doing something important."
"Who are you calling an ass!?" Suigetsu scowled.
I ignored Suigetsu, turning my attention to Karin, "Do you need me to give you a job?" I asked.
She nodded, still seeming a little ashamed, "I'm not quite sure what to do with myself."
"Maybe you could help me out then." I smiled, rerolling out the map and waving her over.
"I'm not sure how helpful I'll be." she muttered.
"Nonsense." I dismissed, "See here where I have the different farming plots mapped out?"
She hummed in acknowledgement.
"So, we need to begin laying pipes to transport water, and I was wondering if you had any ideas"
She studied the map for a moment before pointing to the river, "If we started here near the epicenter, we could route the water through the refineries, which I'm guessing will need a lot of water?"
