"Sakura, slow down a minute! Why are we going so fast?" Naruto whined at me as we hoped quickly from tree to tree.

"I told you! Bad guys are coming, and I want to get you guys to safety as fast as possible!"

"So that explains the stupid turtle necks." Sasuke deadpanned.

"Stupid?!" I gasped in mock offense, "These have been handcrafted with love."

"Gross." was his reply.

"You're no fun." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"I guess that makes sense." Naruto asked, "Don't we need another scroll?

After a while of tree hopping, I started to get the sense that we weren't making any head way. I wasn't expecting to run into that genjutsu team so early, but I guess our change of path mixed some things up. I came to a sudden stop, Naruto crashing into my back as a result.

"Sakura!" He yelped, "What's up?"

I just held up a hand as I scanned the treeline, eyes darting between every gap in the trees, searching for any sign of life. My concentration was broken when Sasuke nudged my shoulder. I glanced over to see him staring intently up at a branch, my gaze following his to see a figure hiding behind the trunk of a tree, barely peeking around it at us.

In a swift movement, I threw a kunai with a paper bomb attached in the direction of the tree, enjoying the satisfying explosion and then screams that followed as a few flaming ninja fell from the canopy of the forest.

"Get them!" I let out a triumphant warcry as my team descended on our opponents.

Since we had caught them off guard we already had a pretty sizable advantage. In no time at all we had them restrained, knocked out, and had taken their scroll.

"How'd you know that they were there, Sakura?" Naruto asked.

"We were trapped in a genjutsu spell, I could tell that, and I did some research on our opponents."

"You? Research?" Sasuke mocked.

"Oh, shut up, I got us our scroll didn't I? Let's just move before anything else happens."

"Alright!" Naruto started off in the direction we were headed, Sasuke and I following close behind.

I was starting to get an uneasy feeling, as if a wall of darkness was closing in on us. I started pressing us forward, going faster and faster. Were we getting any closer? How far away were we? Could we even make it before it got dark? Were we going to make it? Were we-

"Sakura, slow down!"

I was broken from my thoughts by Naruto's call, turning to see him and Sasuke lagging behind. I slowed my pace as I turned a bit to talk to them.

"We need to hurry! We don't know when we are going to be intercepted!"

"Who is after us?" Sasuke retorted angrily, "I am tired of all this secrecy shit!"

"I can explain later!"

"No, not later!"

"Yes, we don't have ti-"

I felt all the air get forced out of my lungs as a sudden solid kick sent me flying backwards into a tree.

"SAKURA!" I heard Naruto and Sasuke cries through a haze of pain. I was starting to slip into shock, feeling my grasp on the world slipping away as I had no doubt broken numerous bones. Through the fog I forced myself to make the hand signs to activate my newest sealing trick: pain suppression. Just as I felt myself go numb, I suddenly became very aware of my surroundings again. Gently pushing myself up, I guess I hadn't majorly broken any arm bones, I quickly tried to figure out what was going on. My legs were twisted in odd ways as I seemed to have landed on a sturdy branch, backed against the tree trunk. I looked up to see Naruto, Sasuke, and Orochimaru locked in combat. I needed to distract him.
