"God, if I have to see one more goddamn Zetsu, I'll bite the dude's head off." I huffed.
"I would be interested to see how you would go about doing that." Shino hummed.
"I would not." Izumi smiled, "I'll just take his word for it."
"I've got my ways." I grumbled, Akamaru shooting me a look that screamed 'We're not biting a dude's head off in wolf mode'. I shot a look back at him, my foul mood only worsening as we continued walking. Anxiety was eating away at me, and I kept trying to rack my brain as to what, besides the obvious war, might have been getting me on edge.
As if the universe, and by that I mean Izumi, heard my internal question, Izumi smirked at me, "Excited to go to the medical camp?"
"Why would I be excited to get medical supplies?" I asked in turn.
Izumi rolled his eyes, "What's going on with you? You are friends right?"
"What? Yeah, of course we are." I scoffed, "What's your point?"
"I dunno," Izumi shrugged nonchalantly, "It's just that I don't act like I'm walking to the chopping block when I'm visiting a friend."
I made a sound between a huff and a laugh; goddammit, why couldn't Izumi just mind his own damn business?
"Are you really that worked up about it?" Shino inquired, quirking an eyebrow.
"No." I responded a little too insistently. Shino's eyebrows raised.
"I don't know what you're worried about." Izumi hummed, "She's completely comfortable around you. She likes talking to you."
I resisted pleading him to stop, "Okay, okay, I get it."
"I wouldn't think that she'd be your type though." Izumi noted.
I flushed, pointedly looking away from him.
"It's a him problem." Shino concluded, and Izumi nodded in agreement.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I huffed indignantly.
"What's going on between the two of you?" Shino pressed, "It's been months since she's been back, and you still can't seem to be normal around her."
"I... don't know what you're talking about." I crossed my arms over my chest, Akamaru leveling me with an unimpressed look.
"He still likes her," Izumi not so covertly whispered to Shino, "Like, a lot."
I whipped around, about to give Izumi a piece of my mind. Izumi hid himself behind Shino, smiling apologetically before he distractedly glanced off to the side, "What's that?"
We all turned to see a white blur speed past us, all of us staring after it wide eyed.
"Was that..." Shino began.
"The Second Hokage?" I finished.
"What's that?" Izumi repeated, now pointing at the sky.
We then looked upward, and my heart practically stopped when I saw a black winged girl soaring at breakneck speeds through the sky after him. I was hoping I'd never have to see that form again, but there was no time to worry about that now.
"Akamaru, follow." I commanded, jumping onto his back.
"Do you know what that is?" Shino asked hurriedly.
"Hinata." I blurted quickly, urging Akamaru to move.
"That was Hinata?" Izumi cried, but I paid no attention to him as I rode off.
