"You did what!?" We had already died once already, and she was going to pull shit like that? Mierda, this girl really committed to making as much of a scene of herself as possible sometimes!
Sakura looked down with a nervous giggle, refusing to meet my gaze as she busied herself instead with looking at her nails, "What!? I knew it was going to turn out okay." Yes, she definitely knew without any uncertainty that it'd be okay.
I snatched her hand back, surveying my work to make sure it was still pristine, "Yeah, yeah, sure." I wasn't willing to die on this hill today, though, so I was going to let this go for now.
"No, it's not fine!" Ino yelled, startling me with the sudden noise as she adamantly grabbed Sakura by the shoulders, "You can't just go pulling off stunts like that!"
Tenten gave a slight nod, giving her own nails a passive glance, "Yeah... I mean, I wouldn't think throwing yourself off of a cliff would be the smartest plan exactly."
"Hey! I made it out alive, didn't I?" Sakura defended hotly, shaking Ino off of her, "and besides, I got a hug from my super sexy sensei!"
Her motivations sometimes were so vapid, and although I wanted more than anything to beat some sense into her I had long since learned that such a task was pointless, and I turned to Ino and took one of her hands. Anything to distract me from her Kakashi obsession that now had gotten even worse since she could actually interact with the poor man, "Ino, what color do you want for your nails?"
"That light blue is nice." she sighed, offering her hand to me willingly and trying to blow off her own anger over the situation. She and Sakura had now formed a proper friendship, and it was nice to see this kinder, more nuanced side to Ino.
"Wow, Ino, your natural nails are so pretty." I smiled a bit, trying to lighten the mood since there was no reason to drag down a group get-together over something that was between me and Sakura. It wasn't like I was lying either, Ino was truly an unfair being of perfection.
She smiled back with that gorgeous, radiant smile, "Yeah, I have a pretty crazy routine to keep them healthy." It waned, though, as she realized the inherent problems with such a statement, "I guess I can't afford to anymore."
Tenten sighed herself, studying now crimson nails with slight impassivity, "We have more important things to focus on than looking pretty, and don't think that's a bad thing really." Tenten was an interesting character to pin, as I had basically nothing to go on with her from the show due to her... nonexistent role in it. She seemed to be grounded enough all the same, with a cute face and a kind of 'girl next door' appeal.
"I wouldn't worry about it too much. Looks aren't everything. Y'know, practicality?" I shrugged with an impassivity of my own, "There's nothing wrong with having a little fun indulging, but if we're expected to rough it in the woods all the time and fight to our best ability, we need to prioritize."
Ino gave a slightly put off scoff, she would probably never be one to sacrifice her beauty, but Tenten regarded me with a slightly amused if not confused smirk, "Didn't know you thought so much about practicality, Hinata."
"I know a certain someone who doesn't need to maintain his looks," Sakura stared off dreamily, breaking the flow of our conversation as she flopped onto her back, "All the way from his perfect face to his perfect di-"
I whipped around and punched her in her stupid arm. Why did she have to be so horny all of the fucking time!?
Tenten let out an uncomfortable laugh, "Someone likes their sensei, huh?"
