"Hinata, I seriously want you to consider it." Kiba stated, "Can we talk about the platforms?"

"No."

"I'm not judging you or anything I swear." he looked over at me seriously as we strolled the streets of Konoha, and I was momentarily impressed by how he seemed fearless of tripping over anything, "I just... we need to talk about the platforms."

"What's there to talk about?" I finally returned eye contact, already having a pretty good idea of where this conversation was going to go.

"I'll just be honest," he began, "I can barely stand you being my height, but when you wear those insane shoes that are like a foot tall-"

"Five inches, Kiba." I corrected.

"Whatever," he huffed, "I don't like you being taller than me."

"But I'm not actually taller than you." I argued.

"But you look taller than me in those shoes." he countered, "Why do you wear them anyway?"

"Style." I answered pointedly, being met with an unimpressed glare, "... and I like the feeling of superiority."

He smiled at me in bewilderment, "What?"

"You heard me." I said, looking back at him with as much seriousness as I could muster.

He shook his head, "I don't know what I was expecting to hear... it probably should have been that, but still." he frowned, "You're already tall for a girl, isn't that enough?"

"No." I replied, noticing how his face fell, "You can't hate it that much." I let a more genuine aspect slip into my tone.

"Don't get me wrong, you look good in them." he grumbled, "I just want to look good standing next to you." he scratched the back of his neck with a shrug.

Okay, now I felt kinda bad, "Aw, c'mon, Kiba." I stopped walking, and he reluctantly turned to face me, "If anyone who looks at you isn't completely captured by your stunning smile, they're missing out." I took his hand in mind, "A little height difference because of some platform shoes isn't going to make anyone think less of you."

"I dunno," he smiled sheepishly, "It just feels like it's hard to compete standing next to you."

I looped our arms together so that I could be closer to him as we resumed walking and tried to ignore how Akamaru was practically rolling his eyes at the exchange, "I'm not joking when I tell you that the most likely reason you notice people staring at me and not you is because they're scared of me. Nobody's thinking that you don't 'belong' with me or whatever."

"Give yourself some credit," he scoffed, "You're terrifying and beautiful."

"And you're not terrifying and a muscular hunk." I countered, earning a reluctant laugh, "You're a little intimidating at times sure, but-"

"Intimidating?" he echoed.

"Well, the eyes help with that." I shrugged, "And you have a little bit of the rbf, but it's more of like a stoic, aloof thing, and you're not short if that's what you're worried about."

"Huh, never thought of it like that." he hummed, glancing at me with a smirk, "I guess I just have the curse of having a tall woman."

"That you do." I smirked back, "And if you're really worried about looking like you 'belong' with me, you don't look bad in black." I said the last part a little suggestively, earning an eyebrow raise in return.

"I'll keep that in mind." his tone grew distracted as he narrowed his eyes at the cafe we were approaching, "I think I smell Shino."

"What does Shino smell like?" I asked in a rare moment of just letting my mouth blurt the first thing that popped into my head.
