Criminal - Fiona Apple

"Let's talk," Chibs said, sitting down at the table. Mina stood where she was, staring down at him. "You wanna talk or what?"

She sat down next to him, reaching for his arm, but he pulled it away from her. "Are you...are you mad at me about something?"

He chuckled, adjusting in his seat, leaning closer to her. "How long have ya known Charlie's in the ATF?"

"I just found out a few hours ago," she sighed.

"Don't f*ckin' lie to me," Chibs scoffed, sitting back.

Staring at him, Mina shook her head, slowly looking down at the table. "I'm not lying."

Chibs stood up quickly, knocking his chair over hard and startling her. "There's no possible way that you didn't know! How much did ya tell her?"

"I didn't tell her anything, Chibs!" she said as she stood, backing away from him. "I didn't know! I promise you!"

"You brought an ATF b*tch into this house! Who knows the sh*te she heard? Do you know what you've done?" he yelled.

Mina muttered, "I didn't mean to! I didn't know!"

He picked up the beer bottle and threw it on the ground, sending glass and beer all over the floor. "If you didn't know, how did ya find out? How do you now know about her?" he yelled. Mina just stared up at him, scared. She'd seen him mad, but never this mad. Seeing the fear in her eyes as she took a step back, he sighed, stepping back. He picked up his chair and as he sat down, he threw his hands up. "How d'ya know?"

Mina turned towards him and said, "Sheriffs brought me in today for questioning." Chibs shook his head, running his fingers through his hair. "I didn't tell them anything."

He laughed, shaking his head. "How should I believe you?"

"Are you serious?" Mina walked over to him and squatted down in front of him. "I would never tell them anything, baby, you know that." She grabbed his hand and squeezed it. "I love you. I'd never do or say something to put you in harm's way." Picking up his hand, she brought it to her lips and then to her cheek.

"Darlin'," he sighed, shaking his head. Chibs didn't know whether or not to believe her. He felt awful if she was telling the truth, but he wasn't sure what was true or not. "What did they ask you?"

Mina stood and dragged her chair closer to him before she sat down. "Your relationship with Alvarez and Connor mostly. I told them I didn't know either of them."

Before Chibs could ask her his next question about it, his phone started ringing. "What?" he answered, standing up and walking into the other room out of Mina's earshot.

"Rat just got picked up," Tig said.

"Jesus Christ," he groaned. "Who picked him up?"

Tig sighed, "I don't know. He went over to see Brooke and she called and said he got arrested."

Mina walked toward him as he paced the living room. When he hung up, she touched his arm and he turned towards her. "Everything okay?" she asked.

"No," he grumbled, heading for the door.

"Anything I can do?" she called out to him.

Chibs stopped and turned back to her. "No."

Mina watched him walk out to his bike and leave. She knew he was going to be angry, but she didn't expect him to be like this. Staring at his face, she could tell he didn't believe her, and she didn't know how to convince him that she didn't know. If she did know, Mina wouldn't have let Charlie stay there for two weeks or be close to Chibs.
