Last Kiss - Pearl Jam

-----

So much had happened in Jax's two-hour trip. By the time he got back, he had to catch Chibs and Bobby up and tell them what his plan was.

Jax found Tara and the boys and they talked to Patterson. Jax would turn himself in so long as Tara was to stay out of jail and she gets the boys out of Charming.

"There's gotta be another way," Chibs sighed.

Jax shook his head. "There's not, man. I can't ask my wife to take the hit for us. And I'm not letting it land on the club." Chibs leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Maybe this is what was supposed to happen. Why I've been so hell-bent on trying to get us out of guns."

"I hate this," Chibs groaned, shaking his head.

"I know, brother."

Bobby asked, "What're they charging you with?"

"Possession, conspiracy," he answered.

"With the parole violation and, uh, priors," Bobby sighed, "I hate to say, they're gonna hang you."

Jax nodded, "Surrendering buys me some good faith. Tara's lawyer thinks they'll settle for twenty-five. Parole in ten, maybe seven if I'm lucky."

Chibs tipped his head back, looking at the ceiling. This wasn't supposed to happen. He sighed, "Jesus..."

"I'm good with it," Jax said. "I'll still get to see my boys grow. And we got the club in a good place. I mean, sh*t's a little bumpy with Mayans, but that'll iron out. Did you talk to Alvarez and Nero after the buy?" he asked Bobby.

He looked at Chibs who stared him down. They weren't going to tell Jax about what Barosky told Chibs and Tig. He had enough to deal with. "No. All quiet." Bobby sighed, "You should tell the rest of the club."

"No," Jax shook his head. He spun the gavel so the handle was towards Bobby. "You should tell the rest of the club."

"I don't want it."

He said, "You're always talking about 'what is best for the club,' Bobby." Bobby looked over at Chibs. "You leading is best. With him at your left, we have a chance. Just keep moving towards legitimate sh*t. Get Caracara up and running. TM back on track. SAMCRO will be fine."

Chibs looked down at the table. He was upset; about Jax getting arrested, about him not be best to lead. Bobby looked at him. "Chibs?"

He looked over at Jax and sighed, "Yeah."

"Okay," Bobby said.

Jax said, "There's one more thing. I was wrong about Juice. He can't be trusted."

Chibs hung his head down. He and Juice had their problems in the past, but Juice was his young brother. The thought of not being able to trust him was hard. Especially since what happened the night before.

"Why?" Bobby asked. "What happened?"

Jax looked at Chibs. "Bring him up to speed."

"Aye," he sighed.

"I'm gonna go be with my boys," Jax said.

Bobby replied, "Yeah, good."

"We'll look after your family, Jackie," Chibs said.

Jax responded, "Whatever Tara wants, you support it."

"Of course," Bobby nodded.

Jax turned to the new president. "Thank you. I love you both so much."
