Chapter 24: You

Chibs pulled into the parking lot of the park the club was at. He got there late. The club was waiting by the pond while Jax was under a gazebo talking to Patterson. He walked over to them and asked Tig, "What'd I miss?"

"Nothing, man," he sighed, "Just been waitin'." Chibs lit a cigarette and Jax started walking back. "How'd that go?"

Jax sighed, "She knows she got played. She also knows she got what she needed. We got to wait and see how it lands."

"Yeah," Tig nodded.

"Well," Chibs sighed, "I got hold of Connor, told him to take the guns to Wahewa."

Jax nodded, "Okay. You good?" He looked at Quinn and Montez and they said they were good and ready. 

"I'm all over it, like jizz on his mama," Tig said pointing to Montez.

Montez scoffed, "Hey, my mama's dead, man."

Jax shook his head, "That won't stop him." Tig and Montez walked to the van, heckling each other. Jax and Chibs got on their bikes. Chibs was putting his sunglasses on when Jax asked, "Where were you, man? I needed you here."

"Sorry, brother. Had some sh*te to do."

"Are you here, VP? Your head's been somewhere else."

Chibs looked at him. "I'm right here. Always have been." They started up their bikes and rode to Nor-U-Bev to talk to Connor. 

Mina walked into the office, trying to stop thinking about her mother. "Morning!" Jessica chirped. "You okay, babe?"

"Yeah," Mina sighed. "Just thinking about my mom." She sat down at her desk. 

"What happened with the VP last night?" she asked, raising her eyebrows up and down.

Mina laughed, "You're a piece of work."

She whispered, "Was it the club?"

"I can't tell you," Mina sighed.

Jessica stood next to her and said, "Well, you saying that makes me think that it was."

"Then, you better keep that thought to yourself," she snapped.

"Christ, Mina. I'm just talking to you."

Mina put her head in her hands. "F*ck, I'm sorry." 

Jessica saw something on Mina's collarbone. "Looks like you guys made up, though," she laughed. 

"We did more than makeup," Mina sighed.

Chibs and Jax went to Nor-U-Bev to make sure everything was running smoothly since they ruined the deal the IRA had with Clay. Everyone heard about what went down with Gaalan, even the BBC was reporting on it. They were concerned about another crew trying to make a move.

"Think ya got enough protection around here?" Chibs asked.

Connor sighed, "Uh, got Hugh and Malloy." Chibs lifted his glass to him like a toast. "Why? You really think the Chinese will try and hit us here?"

"Lin finds out Gaalan was killed, he might make a move. Your guns will be safe at Wahewa. We can see everything coming and going to the barn."

Connor stood up to shake Jax's hand. "All right."

Chibs shook his hand and sighed, "Later, Con."

Jax walked out and Chibs followed. From there, they went up to the barn where Tig, Montez, and Quinn were waiting. Their job was to kill Connor's protection. They got there a few minutes before the Chinese for the meet. They put the bodies in the back of the truck with the guns they were supposed to store at the barn.
