Unhappy Girl - The Doors
-----
Mina laid in bed, not wanting to move. She hadn't seen or heard from Chibs since he sent her the roses. As angry as she was, she wanted to call him, to hear his voice. Mina missed him, but he ruined everything they once had.
She just laid in bed, bored and lonely. Charlie had to go out, said she'd be back in a few days. So Mina sat by herself, waiting for something, anything to happen.
Her phone rang and she dove to the foot of the bed to grab it. Looking at the screen, she groaned; Jessica. Mina sighed and answered it, listening to the same questions everyone's been asking her for days.
"You okay, babe?" she asked.
Mina groaned, "I guess so. Still miss him. Still feel like sh*t."
"Yeah, I know you do," Jessica assured her. "It'll get easier."
"You keep saying that. And here I am, playing solitaire, crying my eyes out." She picked up the cards that she was on laying on. "I feel like...like I'm trapped."
Jessica laughed, "If you're trapped, it's from you're own doing. C'mon, let's go out. I hate seeing you so upset."
Mina leaned back against the wall. "I have to go grocery shopping. Be good, get out, pick up a few things."
"I'll come with you."
"No, you don't have to," she protested. She didn't want Jessica to see what she was going to buy. Just in case.
Jessica laughed, "I want to. I miss my bestie."
"Ew, gross," Mina chuckled. "Fine, you can come."
After hanging up, she got out of bed for the first time in a long time. Her legs wobbled as she walked. She grabbed her t-shirt with Jim Morrison's face on it and pulled off the one she had worn for days.
When Jessica got there, she opened up the front door and walked right in. As she walked to Mina's bedroom, she looked at the mess around the house. She walked into Mina's room as she was pulling her shoes on.
"How long has your front door been unlocked?" she asked.
"I don't know," Mina sighed, looking up as she tied her shoelaces.
Jessica chuckled, "Your house is a f*cking disaster."
"Is it?" Mina asked, standing up. "Ask Charlie about that one."
As they walked through the store, Mina's eyes peered over at the feminine care aisle. She asked Jessica to get milk because it was on the other side of the store. She took her opportunity to sneak over to the aisle.
Jessica walked back and put the milk in the cart. She asked, standing behind Mina. "Are you pregnant?"
"Shh!" Mina snapped. "I don't know. I'm late," she whispered.
"Holy sh*t," Jessica chuckled, "What're you going to do?"
She picked up a box and said, "I'm buying this test."
"Mina..."
"I don't know!" Mina yelled, spinning around. "I don't know! I've been asking myself that for two days! I don't know what I'm going to do! I can't get back with him because he broke my heart but I miss him so f*cking much! I don't know what I can do! Lord knows if I am, he's not gonna want to come anywhere near me."
Jessica asked, "What makes you think that?"
Mina laughed, throwing her hands up. "Look at his track record with everything that's happened!"
