Chapter 43: Five to One

Five to One - The Doors

After seeing Mina in that dress, I didn't even want to go to the party. But, the party was for work, not for pleasure. It was probably a bad idea to bring Mina just because we weren't going to be having fun.

We stood in the kitchen kissing for a few minutes until Mina said, "Pizza's getting cold," through our attached lips.

I chuckled, "So?"

She laughed and I pushed her back against the counter. Holding her neck as we kissed, she ran her fingers through my hair, tugging on the ends. I picked her up and put her on the counter. Standing in between her legs, we continued to kiss until she broke it.

"What about the party?" she asked.

I kissed her neck and said, "What about it?"

Mina laughed and picked up my head away from her neck. "We're going to the party." I looked up at her and she said, "We'll continue this later." She gave me a quick kiss and hopped off the counter.

"Are ya turnin' down all this?" I chuckled gesturing to myself. "You're missin' out, love."

She grabbed the piece of pizza I had been eating and said, "I'm not turning anything down. I'm just waiting for later when we can really enjoy it."

I laughed and took the pizza from her. "Oh, you're gonna enjoy it." Mina laughed my favorite laugh in the world and said something in response, but I wasn't listening.

After a few minutes of banter between us, we walked outside to her car. "You don't want to take your bike?" she asked pointing at my Harley.

"Can if ya want. Assumed ya wouldn't want to."

She smiled, "I always want to."

"Well, a'right then." 

We rode over to Red Woody and I parked next to the other bikes. "What is this place?" Mina asked taking her helmet off.

"Porn studio," I sighed.

She looked at me. "You better not be-"

" 'Course not, love," I smiled, winking at her. 

When we walked in, she went over to talk to Gemma and then worked her way back over to me and the club. She whispered in my ear, "There are a lot of girls here. You sure you don't want one of them?" She bit my ear lobe and sat down on my lap.

"Oh, I'm positive," I chuckled. I leaned down and kissed her. Jax hit my shoulder and pointed to Connor who just got there. "I'll be right back," I said, kissing her one last time. 

Mina smiled and went back over to Gemma. Jax and I were trying to convince Connor to talk to the Chinese and make them an offer on guns.

"You have the leverage here, brother," I told Connor.

Jax said, "Look, you don't agree to sell Lin the hardware till you find out who his buyers are and when they're hitting the street. That's a request you'd make of anyone."

"Listen," I sighed, "just get us that intel. After that, you're not part of this."

Connor turned to Jax and asked, "Did you clear all this with Marks?"

"August is in New York. He'll be back in a few days. We'll bring him up to speed," Jax stated.

"It's a win-win," I sighed.

He chuckled, "I like my wins one at a time." 

I finished my drink, annoyed with how this conversation was going. I kept looking over Jax's shoulder to check on Mina. Nero called to Jax when the Chinese got there.
