Ex-Girlfriend - No Doubt
Mina POV
-----
Chibs and I stood in the airport waiting for Fiona and Kerrianne's plane to disembark. As we waited, he leaned over toward me to make sure I could hear him over the packed airport.
"Can ya do me a favor?" he asked. I nodded and looked up at him. "D'ya mind not wearin' your ring until I tell them?"
His question caught me off guard. I didn't know what to do or say. How could I say no to him? I understood why he wanted to wait and tell them in-person. But, if I were in his spot, I'd rip the bandaid off and tell them as fast as possible instead of procrastinating.
I nodded, looking down at my hand, sliding my ring off. "Yeah, of course," I sighed begrudgingly.
"Thank you, my love," he said, kissing my cheek. He looked back up and saw them walking off the plane. "There they are," he chuckled.
I recognized them from the few pictures he had but it was different seeing them in real life. Chibs started walking over to greet them. Kerrianne ran over to him and jumped into his arms. I stood back and watched how happy he was. I couldn't help but smile at the sight of the two of them.
My smile went away when I saw Chibs lean down and kiss Fiona. It took all of my control not to go over there and kill her. He picked up their carry-ons and walked back over to me. I think he could see the anger in my eyes because he set down the one bag and grabbed my hand.
"Mina, this is Fi and Kerrianne," he smiled introducing them.
I smiled and shook Fiona's hand. "Lovely to finally meet you," she said. "Congrats on the wee one," she chuckled as she pointed to my stomach.
"Thank you," I smiled looking down at my very visible belly. "It's nice to meet you both."
"C'mon, let's get ya home. You're probably exhausted," Chibs said, wrapping his arm around Kerrianne and kissing her forehead.
We walked out to the car and Chibs loaded their luggage in the trunk. The three of them talked and caught up since the last time he saw them. Chibs kept looking in the rearview mirror at Kerrianne. He was so excited to have them here.
When we got home, he carried the bags into the house and up to the spare bedroom, leaving me with them for a few minutes. It was strange. I liked both of them, but the way Fiona looked at me concerned me a little bit. I was the new girlfriend, so I had a feeling she wouldn't be a fan, but she looked at me the same way I looked at her when she and Chibs kissed.
Kerrianne went upstairs to sleep for a little bit. Chibs and Fiona kept talking about the past four years since they saw each other.
"How's your head?" she asked. I didn't know what she was talking about and what was wrong with his head.
"It's fine," he laughed, "Still hard."
She pointed scar on top of his shoulder from where my father shot him. "I see you have a new addition."
He laughed looking down at it. "Aye, someone wasn't too happy about me and Mina bein' together."
"Well, I mean, some changes are hard," she sighed, looking at me.
"Some are," I said. "But, sometimes, a change is good."
She clenched her jaw as she brought her coffee mug to her lips. Chibs looked at me with daggers in his eyes. I picked my hands up off the counter in mock surrender, hoping Fiona didn't notice.
