We've Got Tonight - Bob Seger
-----
Before he could go to Mina's, Chibs stopped home to change. For this date, he wanted to look his best for her. After taking off his cut, he laid it down on his bed. His leather jacket he didn't take off as carefully and tossed it next to the cut. He grabbed a different black t-shirt out of his dresser to replace the black shirt he was wearing. Overtop of that, he put on a black pullover sweatshirt. He grabbed a light grey suit jacket from his closet and put it on the bed.
He slicked his hair back, put his cologne on, slipped the jacket on, and headed for the door. Before he left, he grabbed the cabby hat he rarely wore along with his cut. He probably wouldn't be back to his apartment the next morning, so he figured he'd bring it along for the ride.
After leaving his apartment, he stopped at the store for three things: flowers, chocolates, and a gift. It was almost five-thirty, so he ran through the store to get everything he needed.
As he was checking out, the cashier said to him, "Someone has a date tonight." She winked at him as she scanned his purchase.
"Aye," he chuckled. "Hope I look good. Wish me luck."
"Yeah! You look great! Smell great too," she mumbled the last part herself, hoping he didn't hear her.
He chuckled, "Thank you." Winking at her, he grabbed his items and turned to leave.
"Go get her, tiger!" she laughed.
He laughed too and walked out to his bike. Chibs carefully placed the box of chocolates on top of his cut in the saddlebag. Then, he placed the box inside his suit jacket. He mounted his bike, then fired it up to go to her house.
When he got to her house, he looked in the side-view mirror as he put on his hat, making sure he looked good. Taking out the chocolate and flowers, he took one rose out and held it in front of him with everything else behind his back. He was nervous, he didn't know why. Knocking on the door, he shifted his weight between his feet while he waited for her.
Mina heard the words from his message over and over again. Something cute. She grabbed the black form-fitting dress Jessica advised against and her red corduroy jacket. Peeling off her clothes from work, she pulled the dress over her head, covering her body. She slipped on a pair of low top black Converse.
Looking in the mirror, she put grey and pink eyeshadow around her blue eyes and mascara on extending her eyelashes. She pulled her hair out of the ponytail she had worn all day and flat ironed it, making it fall beside her face pin straight.
It was almost five-thirty and she was starting to get anxious. She wanted to know so desperately what he had planned. There was a knock on her door.
As she opened the door, the smell of the cologne she loved so much hit her in the face. Chibs stood on the other side looking handsome as ever. His eyes looked her up and down and then smiled. Mina saw the single rose he was holding. He handed it to her and she stepped over, hugging him tightly. He kissed her and said, "Hi, darlin'." Mina kissed him back, and then grabbed his hand, guiding him inside. "Here, I got these for ya, too."
He handed her the heart-shaped box of chocolates and roses from behind his back. She smiled, giving him another kiss. "You're spoiling me," she said, her lips against his.
"That's a'right," he chuckled. She bent over, looking in the cabinet for a vase for the flowers. He walked over and hugged her from behind. His arms wrapped around her waist, his body bent over her body, his cheek on her shoulder. "I wanna cancel all of the plans and go straight to bed," he laughed, kissing the side of her neck.
