Fall to Pieces - Velvet Revolver

-----

The EMTs checked out everyone near the blast. Once Mina was cleared, she walked over to Chibs who was sitting on the curb, smoking a cigarette.

"You okay, darlin'?" She nodded and sat down next to him. "You should head home. I got a few things to finish up here."

Mina put her head on his shoulder and took his cigarette out of his mouth to take a drag. "Are you sure, baby?"

"Aye, I'm sure."

She handed it back to him, sitting up straight. "Okay," she sighed, kissing him before she stood up. "Hurry home," she smiled, walking over to her car.

Mina went home and started making dinner for the two of them. She could see that he was still unraveled from everything. Thinking the club would help was stupid of her but he was getting stir crazy. His first day back was insane and long and he just wanted it to end. She sat down at the kitchen table and waited for him to come home.

As the door pushed open, she turned around to see him. He looked exhausted. "Hey, babe," she sighed, standing up and walking over to him. She pulled him into a hug and asked, "How're you feeling?"

"Fine," he sighed, wrapping one arm around her.

"I made dinner," she chirped, pulling away from him. Mina started ladling out the stew and he went to the fridge and grabbed two beers. She walked past him and said, "Oh, one of those for me?" He sighed and went back to the fridge to grab another one.

He twisted off the lid and tossed it on the table while chugging half of it down. Mina started eating, looking up at him as he drank the rest of it. He started eating and as he chewed, he opened up the second beer.

"Anything happen after I left?" He shook his head. "Everyone okay?"

"Aye, they're fine," he said, scooping up a potato.

Mina looked up at him. "That's good. Sheriff's alright?"

"Aye."

She asked, "So, what're you guys gonna do now?"

He shrugged, "I dunno."

Mina took the hint and stopped talking. They finished their meal in silence. Since Chibs had been home, he was rather short with her, which was starting to bother her.

Mina picked up their bowls and brought them to the sink and started washing them. She heard Chibs stand up from the chair and thought he was coming over to wrap his arms around her like he always did. But then she heard the fridge open and glass bottles clink together. Turning around to look, she saw three bottles in his hand.

"What?" he scoffed.

"Nothing," she shook her head, turning back to the dishes.

He sat back down at the table and started drinking his beers. Mina finished at the sink and walked back towards the living room. He grabbed her arm and asked, "Where are ya goin'? Ya don't want to stay out here with me?"

Chibs gripped her arm too tight and she yanked it away. "You want me to?" He nodded and she went back to her chair. "What're we doing here, Chibs?"

Pushing her a beer, he chuckled, "Drinkin'."

"I don't want it," she scoffed, pushing it back to him. "I'm not your drinking buddy, Chibs. I never have been."

"What are ya then?" he asked, chugging another beer.

Mina asked, "You tell me."

Chibs jumped up, pushing everything off the table. Mina leaned back, not sure what he was doing. He pulled her up into a kiss. Pushing his tongue deep into her mouth, she ran her fingers through his hair. Chibs broke the kiss and turned her around, slamming her down on the table.
