Blister in the Sun - Violent Femmes

Mina POV

-----

Chibs lifted our suitcases onto the belt and then grabbed my hand. Since the conversation on the beach the night prior, he was quiet and extra clingy. I loved feeling his grip on me, but I hated the fact that he felt like he needed me. He was strong and it broke my heart when he felt alone and I was his only safety net.

We sat down on the seats closest to the window. The sun was slowly falling from the sky, hiding behind the horizon. By the time we were getting home, it would be around Cait's bedtime. I couldn't wait to have her in my arms again. I missed her so much.

I looked up at Chibs as he just stared out the window at our plane getting filled with all of the luggage. He didn't want to leave. He missed Cait as much as I did, but he didn't want to go back to the real world. If it up to him, we would go home, get Cait, and just leave.

Putting my head on his shoulder, I could feel his body relax a little. He wrapped his arm around me and leaned back in his chair so I could put my head on his chest. I could hear his heart beating in his chest like a bass drum. He began speaking, making the bass drum leave and turn into a deep, rumble.

"We're gonna be so tired when we get home," he chuckled. "That time change is gonna be awful."

I laughed, "Probably." Looking up at him, he already looked tired. "You're not doing anything with the club tomorrow, right?"

He shook his head. "Nah, stayin' with you and Cait." I nodded, looking back out the window. He asked, "Why?"

I chuckled, "Just curious." I had been wanting to do something with him for a while but didn't bring it up. I decided then was the time to tell him. "Plus, I have an idea I wanna run by you." He looked down at me and I sat up, grabbing his arm. "How attached are you to having this arm bare?"

"What're you thinkin'?" he asked as I dragged my fingers up and down his forearm.

"Well," I sighed, "I have to get your crow still and I wanna get something for Cait. What if we did it all tomorrow?"

He nodded, "What does that have to do with my arm?" I laughed, wrapping my arm around his and grabbing his hand. "You're not gonna tell me, are ye?" I shook my head, hiding my laughter. I had nothing planned for him, I just felt like messing with him. "Where're ye puttin' the crow?" he asked.

"Right where you wanted it," I smiled. He didn't remember what I was talking about. I chuckled, trying my best to imitate his accent, "It'll look grea' righ' there." I dragged my free hand over the top of my left breast, right above my heart.

"Was that supposed to sound like me?" he asked. I smiled and nodded. "I don't sound like that. Stop makin' me sound Irish." I laughed, putting my head back down on his shoulder. "That's probably gonna hurt there, ya know that, right?"

I nodded, "Yeah, but then you'll be on my heart forever. It'll be worth it." He leaned down, kissing the top of my head. "And then I want to get one on my wrist," I pointed to the inside of my left arm. "And on my side, I wanna get a big one for my mom and Stefan."

"All of that tomorrow?" he asked. "Who's payin' for all that?"

I smirked, "You're paying for it." He laughed and rolled his eyes. "I just want to do the crow and the one for Cait tomorrow. Wait a little bit for the big one."

He nodded, "Smart." There was an announcement over the PA system and Chibs sighed, "That's us," as he stood, pulling me along with him. "Ya ready?"
