Long Road to Ruin - Foo Fighters

Mina's POV

-----

I sat under Chibs' head for an hour and a half. I didn't want to disturb him so I just played with his hair and thought to myself.

It broke my heart that he was killing himself because he was worried about me. How long was he going without sleep while I slept comfortably on his chest through the night? Even when I met him he looked exhausted; had he caught up on the sleep he was lacking?

My thoughts were broken when his hand twitched. I looked down at him and his hand twitched again, then his eyebrows furrowed. He was dreaming. His breathing was getting faster and his head shook a little.

"Hey." I rubbed his shoulder, trying to help calm him. "Hey, Chibs." His face contorted and his body squirmed a little. "Chibs, Chibs, hey, it's just a bad dream. Hey," I whispered, trying to wake him up. "Baby, you're alright. You're alright, it's just a dream." He still wasn't waking up. He was moving and squirming all over the bed, almost as if he was trying to get away from something. "Chibs! Chibs! It's alright! Filip! Hey, it's just a dream! It's just a dream!" I started shaking him a little harder. "Filip, wake up!"

He jumped and opened his eyes. "F*ck," he muttered.

I asked, "You alright?" as he rubbed his eyes.

"Aye." Chibs sat up, holding his head in his hands. "Just have a headache."

He leaned forward, hunching his back. I put my hand on his spine, rubbing his back as he held his head. I leaned forward with him and rested my cheek on his arm. We sat like that a little while longer until he asked what time it was. I turned to look at the clock and said, "A little after eight."

"Sh*te," he sighed, standing up. "I gotta head to Scoops."

I nodded. "Maybe I can stop by later?"

" 'Course, darlin'." He leaned down to kiss me. "I'll see ya later."

I sat on the bed and watched him walk out of the bedroom. Listening to his footsteps cascade through the house and then the front door open and shut, I wished he didn't have to go. I wished he could've just stayed with me. As scared as he was to leave me, I was scared to be alone.

I finished getting ready and then went out to my car. Driving over to Gemma's house, I drove past Scoops just to see what I could see. The club was standing outside talking to Happy. He must've gotten back from his hit for the Italians.

When I got to Gemma's house, there was another car parked in the road. I had seen it before but I wasn't sure who it was. I walked up to the door and knocked. Brooke opened up the door and smiled.

"Hey, Mina!" She pushed the door open so I could walk in. "Gemma left for TM but she told me you were coming."

I was confused. "Her car's here, though. Did she get a ride or something?"

"Yeah, Wayne picked her up. Want some coffee?"

"Yeah, please," I sighed. I sat down at the island in the kitchen. "Where's the boys?"

She came back with two coffee mugs and sat down next to me. "They're still asleep. It's been a rough few days for them."

I nodded, "Yeah, I know it has."

"It's tough losing your mom." Brooke looked down at her coffee mug. She tapped the top of it with her thumb before taking a sip.

I sighed, "Yeah, it is."

"You lost your mom?" She asked me. I just nodded, looking into the dining room where I had dinner with the club. "I'm sorry. How?"

"She...she was shot accidentally." I swallowed back any and all tears that could've formed. "How did you lose yours?"
