Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots

Mina POV

-----

I pulled up to Jax's house and knocked on the door. Brooke opened it and let me in. Before I was through the door, she pulled me into a hug.

"Did you hear from Gemma?" she asked.

I asked, not sure what she knew, "What about her?"

"She didn't come here this morning. I'm worried about her."

I sighed, "I'm sure she's alright."

Wendy walked in the front door. She looked at me and Brooke and said, "Hey, I didn't know you were coming by."

"Yeah, I was wondering if you needed help with the boys."

She chuckled, "I just dropped Abel off at school but you can hang out if you want to." She walked past me into the kitchen. "Did you tell Brooke your exciting news?"

"What exciting news?" Brooke asked looking between us.

"Well," I chuckled, "We're engaged."

Wendy laughed, "And?" trying to drag the rest out of me even though Chibs and I didn't want to tell anyone just yet.

I looked at her and then turned to Brooke who was eagerly waiting. "And I'm pregnant," I chuckled.

She pulled me into another hug, rocking us back and forth. "I'm so happy for you guys!"

"Thank you," I laughed as she squeezed me tighter.

The three of us sat down at the table. Wendy asked, "So, boy or girl?"

I sighed, tapping the table. "Don't know yet. We want to wait though and not know until the baby is born. He's dying for a girl though." I smiled, "He's getting on my nerves about it but in the cutest way imaginable." They both smiled back at me, thinking about it.

"When's the wedding gonna be?" Brooke asked.

"I don't know," I shook my head. "Just happened last night."

There was a knock at the front door. Wendy stood and let Nero in. He said he needed to talk to Wendy. Brooke and I stepped out of the kitchen to check on Thomas. As we stood in the nursery, Brooke held Thomas lightly bouncing him on her hip.

She looked at me and said, "We're alright here if you want to go. If Gemma's not at TM, they may need help over there."

"You sure? I don't mind."

"Yeah, we're fine," she smiled.

I said goodbye to her and Thomas and then waved to Wendy as I walked out. She and Nero were talking about some farm. Getting into the Mustang, I let the engine roar. I could see what Chibs loved about it.

As I rode over to Teller-Morrow, my phone rang. "Hello?"

"Mina? Hey, it's Gemma." My heart was in my throat. "Listen, I'm assuming you know something, so I'm just gonna keep this quick. Look after my boys, Abel and Thomas, the club, everyone. If something happens, just please do that for me."

She hung up after that. My phone started ringing again and it was Chibs. I looked back up at the road, holding the vibrating phone. It stopped as I pulled into the lot. I didn't know what to do; if I should tell him Gemma called or not.

A chime went off and there was a notification; one new voicemail. "Hey, darlin', just wanted to tell ya somethin' came up. Gonna be later than I thought. I'll let ya know if anythin' changes. Love ya."
