Chapter 135: Island in the Sun

After getting dressed, they went back out to explore and see what they could see. Mina was looking around at a kiosk sitting on the sidewalk with clothing and jackets when Chibs spotted a place to rent an electric scooter. He walked over and rented one for a few hours. 

Mina walked over to him to see what it was he was up to. "What're you doing with that?" she chuckled. Without saying anything he grabbed her hand, sitting her down on the seat. "What're you doing?" Mina laughed, as he sat behind her. He reached the throttle and pulled it back, speeding down the street. "Chibs!" she yelled, falling back into his chest. 

He laughed, wrapping his arm around her, steering with his free hand. Mina grasped his arm, holding on as he took sharp turns, bobbing around the road. 

Driving to the coastline, they stopped to admire the ocean and sky. Chibs chuckled, "Go stand in front of it." He pointed to the railing on the sidewalk. She looked up at him, scowling. "Go," he laughed. She chuckled, walking over to it. "Smile," he said, taking his phone out to take her picture.

"Are you serious?" she laughed, putting her hands on her hips. 

Dropping his shoulders, he huffed, "Do it for Cait." She rolled her eyes and smiled as he took the picture. He looked at it and smirked, "Beautiful." Mina walked back to him and looked at his phone screen as he held it out to her. She laughed, wrapping her arms around his midsection and they continued to look out at the water. 

After a while, they rode back and returned the scooter, then went back to the hotel. Sitting in the dark bar in the lobby, Mina sat under Chibs's arm as she sipped her drink. Chibs drank his bottle of beer, setting it back down on the bar. Hearing the repetitive thump of a dart hitting the board, he turned, watching the two women finishing their game. 

Leaning down to Mina's ear, he whispered, "Wanna make a bet?" She giggled, feeling his whiskers against her ear and neck. She nodded and turned towards him. "If I win, ya have to do whatever I want for the whole day."

"Win what?" she laughed. He nodded over to the dartboard. "Are you serious?" Chibs shrugged, picking up his beer bottle. "Alright, and if I hit it in the center once...you do what I want."

Finishing his drink, he chuckled, "You're on." Once the woman left the dartboard, Chibs said in Mina's ear, "Let the games begin, Mina Telford," as he stood up from his stool. 

He walked over, picking up the darts from on top of the board. Placing the red darts in Mina's palms, he winked at her. Without looking away from her, he threw one of his black darts. It landed in the center of the red target. 

"What?" Mina choked. "You're an asshole!"

Chibs laughed, lighting a cigarette. "Love," he exhaled, taking it out from his lips. "Don't ya know not to mess with a Telford?"

"Telford my ass," she huffed, finishing her drink. "I'll show you who's a Telford."

Mina stood up, holding one dart in between her thumb and two fingers. Lining up her shot, she threw it, bouncing off the rim and clattering on the floor. Chibs winced, "Oh, good try." She rolled her eyes at him, grabbing the second dart. The same thing happened, making Mina groan. Chibs laughed, "Get ready to follow my every command."

"Shh!" she croaked. "You're breaking my concentration." Lining up her last dart, her last chance, she exhaled heavily. Throwing it, the dart whistled through the air, thumping into the red circle directly under Chibs's. "Look at that!" she cheered. 

Chibs sighed, "Shit," under his breath.

Mina laughed, taking his cigarette from his lips. Patting his cheek, she chuckled, "Sorry, baby boy." As she finished his cigarette, she laughed, "Tomorrow's gonna be great!"
